Bits and bobs

I keep hearing that expression on Cash in the Attic and just think it is the cutest thing! I also like "And Bob’s your uncle!" I really don’t get that one but it always makes me laugh:)

Anyway, I just have a bunch of little things to update on. And Barton, yes, we will like this house so much after all our work that we won’t want to move, and we wouldn’t except that the house is in the wrong place and we sure can’t afford it anymore! So every time we do something that makes this house more attractive to us, we just remind ourselves of those two things and then say "wow, imagine what we will be able to do to our new place if we can fix this old place up so good!’ lol.

I am feeling better. The pain comes and goes still, but in lesser degrees. Still weak and really really needing a shower but can’t stand that long. The shower part would be quick, but my hair never is and just thinking about it tires me out still. *sigh*

Oh! On the good news front, honey came home on Friday with a yearly review. There are about 8 to 10 things they come come into his classroom to observe and rate him on because he is a lateral entry teacher. Every single item was rated "Above Average"! The highest and best score possible! And all the remarks were absolutely glowing! If that’s not a awesome recommendation right there, I don’t know what is! What makes it even more surprising is that he is so unorthodox which they don’t usually like, but he does so much to help out the school plus he gets results with the kids.

And Steven has left us. Without a word and we don’t know where he is. Well not specifically anyway. He left over a week ago to stay with friends of his for a few days or so he said. Now that we look around his room, he took every piece of clothing and a few other things, so he was planning on leaving his job and going with these friends to Tennessee all along. Not a smart move on his part but he is 21 this week so we will clean out his room and that will be one more room finished. These friends of his tried moving to Tennessee once before and were back within a month. He is leaving a couple of things hanging undone which we are not going to help take care of anymore because of this so if he comes back, he’d better have a job and he can figure these things out himself. And one of them involves an arrest warrant for something he can prove he didn’t do, but we know he didn’t bother taking care of that before he left because we have the proof here. So disappointing after he had come so far.

I did however finally find where all the hangers in the house were going. My supply had been slowly depleting and I couldn’t figure out why. I had checked every closet in the house. Well, except for Steven’s room because he lived out his duffel bag and I don’t think he even knows HOW to hang anything up! lol. But sure enough, there they were…47 empty hangers in his closet! Yes, I counted them I was so stunned to find them there! lol. My theory? Well, the hangers found out they could get a vacation from work by somehow making it into that closet, so they all migrated there on their own! LOL!

So that is my bits and bobs update for now. Hope all is well for everyone else:)

Umm…I’ve heard private parts referred to as bits and bobs, or bobs and bits depending on your sex. Somehow I don’t think that’s what you mean, LOL :>) Sorry to hear about Steven, that must cause some worry for you. Growing up can be hard, I hope he does o.k. Take care and feel better, bits and bobs and everything else ;>)

Good for you – it is hard to let our adult children make decisions without wanting to step in and “fix” things for them. I have my own theory about hangers. You know all those individual socks that go into the wash and disappear? Well, somewhere in the process they become wire coat hangers. See, this theory solves both the “where do they go” and the “where did they come from” questions.

I am glad that you are feeling better and that the hanger mystery is solved…lol…

Bits and bobs is such an everyday expression here that it made me laugh to think that you had only just heard in on a tv show! Of course, Bob’s your Uncle is great – and another everyday expression here too – just wait ’til you hear someone saying “and Bob’s your Auntie” then!! I guess you know what they mean by the context they’re used in – but translations available if you don’t LOL.
