Cast of Characters

This entry is in response to a note left asking who’s who. I can’t possibly explain it all in a response note so heeeeeere goes!!

Dennis (aka hubby) was 35, never married with no kids when he married his first wife who is a bit older and could no longer have kids. They adopted a 6 month old boy and six months later they adopted another boy right out of the delivery room. No, they didn’t just go looking, it was a private adoption! lol.

Now, the first boy they adopted had 3 older siblings who were about to be taken by Child Services for neglect by both parents. I do believe that when Hubby and ex-wife agreed to take them in, they actually had to go searching because no one knew exactly where any of them were! They were ages 7-12 I think. Hubby and Ex couldn’t adopt these three kids though because even though the courts took away both parents rights to the kids and awarded guardianship to Hubby and Ex, their bio father wouldn’t sign off. He left the option open to go to court and fight for them back. Yeah, right….never even was a concern let alone a worry.

Ok, you with me still? lol. Hubby and Ex-wife now have 2 adopted infant boys and have guardianship of 3 more kids who are the half siblings of one of the infants.

It took 5 years but the marriage between Hubby and Ex finally imploded. Ex moves back to Louisiana taking the two little boys and Stephanie with her, leaving the two older boys with Hubby.

Enter the internet and a gathering and the meeting of two friends (hubby and myself) part of a bigger group and when these two friends actually met face to face….YOWZA!!! The sparks flew and ignited! Phew! It was really something…like you read about in a romance novel but don’t really believe happens! Soooo….

I moved down after Alysia finished her freshman year in school and within a week we had my kid and all Hubby’s 5 kids in residence for the summer and I literally went overnight from one kid to six!! I like to tell people I spent the first couple of weeks saying things like "Do you live here?" and "Where’s your name tag?" LOL! Oh! And let me not forget to mention that Hubby used to travel 2-4 days every week for his job and he was off and running right off the bat before I was even sure where the local store was!

So the two little ones still live with Hubby’s Ex in Louisiana, but Stephanie stayed with us the first 2 and a half years after Alysia and I got here before she decided to move back with hubby’s ex in Louisiana. James had to be asked to leave within 3 months of my moving in because he really wanted us out and wouldn’t stop causing trouble and was interfering with the kids’ schooling. That left us with Alysia, Steven and Stephanie full time and the little ones in the summer.

So, that is who we all are and besides Dennis and myself we have:
 Alysia 21, a college senior;
 Steven 20, living back home with us;
 Stephanie 18, back in Louisiana living with her boyfriend and mom to 3 mo  old;
 Louis 11, living with ex in Louisiana
 Alex 10, also living with ex in Louisiana
