Inflicting Pain

That’s what I will be asking my husband to do as soon as he gets home! I have a muscle in my neck that is tightening up by the minute and is making me useless. And even though I will be saying "ow ow ow ow ow" and trying my best to pull away, the relief I will feel when he is done will be worth it.

The first time I let him work out a cramped muscle, I was outraged that he had put me in such pain…until I realized when he was done that my entire body had finally relaxed! The relief was immense!

He knows what he is doing because he was always into sports and having played lacrosse in college, he knows all about sore muscles and how to work them out. Let’s see if I can get this right…he led the league in penalty points for 3 years running and was known as "The Enforcer"! Evidently he would run right over anyone getting in the way on behalf of his team!  I really get a kick out that since now he is known as a peacekeeper. He gets the rowdy classes to calm down and actually learn and he is the teacher the kids turn to when they need a teacher to argue on their behalf with the school board and things like that. Quite the turnaround I’d say! LOL!

But in college, he was The Enforcer with lots of painful injuries that had to be treated and now that is coming in handy for my stress induced muscle strains. So not only have I invited that awful feeling of wanting to pass out on my elliptical today (yes, I got on twice again today for just a little over a minute each time, but my sister DomestiCat has assured me that it will get better and has faith I can do it. Yay! 🙂 but I am also inviting more pain from my husband to work out this strained neck muscle. *sigh* I just keep reminding myself about that path of least resistance not getting anywhere…

However since my hubby is not home yet, I am off on that path of least resistance for the moment and off to bed for my nap as I am working tonight.

RYN: LOL ha hee hee, you’re too funny. I love that I actually laugh out loud by myself when I read some of your notes. Thanks, you make my day ; >) Now excuse me I must go read above……ouch. Funny I’ve had a neck pain for the last two days. I’ve been doping myself up on Motrin. hmmm, maybe I’ll request a neck rub from my hubby. Good idea. Good luck with work.

Aww, what did you do to your neck? Feel better!
