Phew! What a week! w/edit for DomestiCat :)

And it’s not over yet. For some reason we just haven’t been able to get our footing this week. We are both tired from not sleeping well, and if we do, it’s not for a long enough time. We have also been tripping over everything jammed into the family room in preparation for a yard sale this week and now we hear it’s supposed to rain! Damn! That’s $27 out the window for the ad in the paper, not to mention there will be a rotten turnout of people and we won’t get rid of any of this mountain of stuff we were hoping to.

Oh, and the big screen TV we treated ourselves to earlier this year because of the excellent rock bottom price deal on it (since it was a year old floor model with slight damage to the screen) decided to quit working. Yup, we took a chance and got it even though the store would offer no guarantees with it and here it is only 10 months later and we got a dead TV on our hands. The first thing I thought about after I decided to dump the problem in Dennis’ lap by email was how the hell were we going to get rid of this thing? I mean where do you leave a big screen TV? I don’t think it will fit in the garbage can! lol. And come to think of it, it’s about as big as the car that’s been sitting dead in our driveway for 4 years. I think we need a bigger garbage can!

But honey to the rescue and all is not lost. It seems that once I dug up the receipt and paperwork, he was able to confirm his suspicions…that we were still under the manufacturer’s warranty! Yay! We have full coverage for all parts and labor for one year and guess what? If they can’t fix it, they will replace it! Wow! We have our fingers crossed that the TV is fried for good for some reason! LOL!

Oh! I don’t have a picture yet but we have a new chandelier in the dining room (which is where I’m sitting at the moment since it’s really Dennis’ office and computer room now). The one we had was extremely "80’s" which I gather from HGTV is SO dead! lol. So it’s going in the yard sale for $20 (but we’ll take $10 lol) and the new one is just gorgeous! Plus it was a great price. Lowe’s has a whole brand new line of lights in if anyone’s interested. We also got a hanging tiffany style 3 light mini chandelier for the hallway. So pretty and also a good price. Can’t wait to see that go up!

Let’s see what else is news…well, Jasmine has had a couple of not so good days but she is better today. She got all prancy to go out for her walk which always makes me laugh. She starts ‘wiggle waggle-ing’ all over the place and acts like the old Jasmine…or rather the young Jasmine. lol. For a few days though her back legs were just too wobbly for her to even get up stairs. She kinda looked like jello rolling uphill. *sigh* my poor baby. But she was all spunky today and feeling pretty good. Made me feel great to see her like that:)

I found this in the albums while I was looking for something else. It’s a picture of the Mayberry Christmas Village from that evil evil place! My sweet honey tortured me with it on our computer background for a couple of weeks the brat!

And if that’s not bad enough, yesterday I got another one advertising the "It’s a Wonderful Life" Village complete with George Bailey running down the street wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! I just can’t take it anymore!!!! lol. Oh but Dennis finally got a taste of what I am going through because they actually had a Boston Red Sox/Fenway Park Christmas Village!! Oh yes, I saw the eyes get that gleam in them that he’s always laughing at me for. Oh yes, God got him back for me! LOL! http://www.collectiblestoday.com/ct/product/prdid-48193.jsp?_/_prod/_17+54/_/_36/_/_/_Y&endeca=true&abbr=hw

But this is not the picture I was looking for. I had my honey scan in 2 from a catalog for me. You see, like my daughter Firefaerie, I now have a weight loss goal also. She is trying to lose a little weight to fit into an outfit for the Ren-Faire this weekend and now I have until May (I know, plenty of time to lose 30 pounds…hope I make it though! lol)  Anyway, I saw these wonderful outfits but why bother with wanting or buying them if I never had anywhere to wear them? And then suddenly it hit me. I have a very very special day coming up next year that I have waited nearly a quarter of a century for (since the day my baby girl was born nearly 22 years ago)…her college graduation!

She didn’t really want to go and every year I get at least one email telling me she is through and leaving school. But I had pleaded, threatened and explained until I was blue in the face about needing a degree in today’s world especially if you are female. I had become a single mother and if it were not for my family (and I mean my WHOLE family) helping out, I would not have made it. She remembered those times and when I told her that getting her degree would be the last thing I ever ask her to do for me, she relented and went. Awww… Isn’t she a good girl??

Anyway, now that she has nearly made it through (for me) she is already balking at having to go through the graduation ceremony. Well since she got the degree for me, I figure the graduation ceremony should be for me! LOL! And I need a special outfit to celebrate and like the woman who said she will wear purple when she’s old because she can do what she wants then, I feel I have earned being able to wear an outfit like this to my daughter’s graduation. Of course these are the Fall styles and I will have to wait for the Spring styles but you get the idea. What do you think of them?

Yes, Virginia, there is a Christmas and yes, Alysia, your mother’s wearing a hat to your graduation! I just can’t wait!

You are great, really, thank you for all your notes. I truly believe you to be a wonderful caring person. The world is lucky to have you :>) and those dresses, va va voom. Take care & I hope the sky stays clear for your yard sale :>)

Oooooh I love those outfits! They would be perfect for a mother of the bride for a fall or winter wedding, hehe. Yes, you’ve earned the right to wear a hat! Can’t believe our little girl is graduating next year! Red Sox/Fenway Park CHRISTMAS Village? Hmm, that I’ve got to see…

Haha, where are you going to put your hair?? Anyway, I already told you graduation sucks at App. Nosebleed seats, and no interpreter. And if you hire one, you won’t be able to see her anyway, unless you have her sit with you. And good luck seeing me. They’ll mispronounce my name and you’ll miss it…

All so you can wear your hat in public! Here’s a plan: Wear it with me to the bar where we will celebrate like real men.
