Stephanie is a mom!!
Baby Blake was born on Tuesday evening at 7:45 after an exhausting 14 hour labor. Mom and baby are both doing well but definitely feeling a bit beaten up, the poor things, and mom is on a morphine drip with other pain medications she can request if she needs to.
Her water broke in the middle of the night and within an hour she was having steady hard contractions which lasted for a good 13 hours. She finally started giving birth and the baby had even crowned and they could even see the color of his hair, but he just wouldn’t budge after that and they went in for an emergency C-Section.
I am not surprised she had trouble giving birth and I didn’t realize how much it was worrying me until I heard that it was over and they were both fine. After all, Stephanie is a tiny thing and that baby looked big enough to me to be born 2 months ago! She can’t be more than 5’2" and she "ballooned" to a whopping 130 pounds during her pregnancy. (Jeez, I haven’t weighed 130 since I was in 2nd grade I think! LOL!) And just as we suspected she had a big baby at 7.5 pounds. Not huge but pretty damn big for a little girl like Stephanie!
So she turned 18 on Sunday and became a mom on Tuesday. Not usually a scenario to inspire happiness, but the change in Stephanie has been just absolutely wonderful and she was lucky enough to fall in love with a good man that loves her and is sticking by her through it all. Ok, he’s only 21 himself, but he is working hard and I think they will be wonderful parents.
She will send up photos once she gets home, but they are keeping her until at least tomorrow and then I doubt she will be up to doing much until she heals and gets used to the new schedule and becoming a mom and everything else. But I will post photos as soon as we get them.
Hugs all around as I pass out blue carnations and cigars that say "It’s a Boy!" LOL!
Congrats, glad everyone is o.k. that’s a long labor. I look forward to photo’s. :>)
