The Ultimate Turkey Coma
Hmm, that title could be taken a couple of ways with Steven involved! LOL! But here he is after dinner. He was on the computer and just got too tired to go anywhere but off the seat and passed out on the floor! His loving sister took this shot for posterity!
So dinner was at 4. Not bad considering I was shooting for 2! I’m getting better though. Usually I shoot for 2 and we eat at 8! Here’s Dennis pouring the wine and yes, those are Christmas dishes. Everyone knows that Thanksgiving is the official first day of the Christmas season. Why else is Santa in the Macy’s parade huh?
And of course we have to have a ‘pre-toast’!
But I forgot to get a picture of the kids around the table. Bummer. I will have to remember for Christmas! A wonderful time and meal was had by all though.
********Edit**********
I forgot to add that not only did Alysia bring the wine, a wine that she asked to be recommended for Thanksgiving dinner at a wine bar no less, but she also brought the pies!! Wow, I could get used to this! lol. Especially since they were delicious. Even Steven said so…until he found out his sister had made them instead of me!! *giggle* I thought he was gonna choke when I told him! Ah, sibling love! LOL!

And the next day was for the Christmas tree. I think we broke a record since it was up and completely decorated in one day!! Wow, usually we take a week to ‘tinselate’ it we get so sick of doing it after putting all the other decorations on, but we seemed to be on a mission to get it over with. And here it is! You can’t tell in this photo, but the angel’s head is less than half an inch from the ceiling. We call this angel Clarice, after Clarence in ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ because she doesn’t have her wings yet either! Alysia bought it without realizing it didn’t have wings! But I love it and I even love that she doesn’t have wings yet. It makes me smile:)
We did have some fun shopping for it. We took Steven with us and got a 7 foot tree, 8 poinsettias, a plastic wrapping paper storage, and a few other things and put it all into our Eclipse. This is the car we don’t take when we have more than one kid with us since there is no room in the back seat. But we took it to get the tree and we caused a bit of curiosity in the parking lot. One guy just sat in his truck amazed at what we were getting into that little car and his mouth dropped open when Dennis told him we even had a kid back there. He didn’t believe us and waited until we left to see if we were kidding him or not. We told Steven to wave and the guy just howled. I’m glad we were able to spread some cheer! LOL! So the ride home was not comfortable for Steven but luckily we were not too far from home. But being the loving parents we are, we wouldn’t let him move until I ran in and got the camera! hee hee. So here is a picture of the tree we got and the elf that came with it!
Hey, what are kids for if not our enjoyment? After all our empty nest is not empty any more since he is back home again so anything we can get out of it is our due I say! I am taking him today to an interview at Pizza Hut. He has applications in at Lowe’s and Home Depot which is where he really wants to work until he finds some place that he can use his apprentice certificate to become an electrician. But he also needs something until Lowe’s comes through. So it’s off to Pizza Hut. I took him into the store where I work and they got him going right away with all the tests and were anxious to hire him, but the brat failed the personality test!
Oops! LOL! In his defense, the test is geared towards customer service and he wouldn’t have had to deal with customers at all on the night shift but he’s gotta pass the test anyway. Who knew he didn’t have a personality! (Hey I KNOW I’m not a good mother, you don’t have to tell me! LOLOL!)
Your tree looks lovley. We have not got ours yet, but we already got lovely new Christmas decorations and I can’t wait to put them up on the tree! Take care,
