and on it goes

So my surgeon said yesterday that he wants to wait like 2 or 3 months to see if my pain gets better, worse or stays the same.  That is, if my blood test comes back normal.  I had a blood test (again) and a urinalysis (again) so if those two things come back normal then he just wants to play the wait and see game.  It’s actually been feeling a little better I think…. or at least, maybe I’m just getting used to it?  I dunno.  But either way I’m not extremely worried like I was.  He said pretty much that they’re ruled out everything that could be seriously wrong because there aren’t very many organs in the area I’m having the pain.  And he said, and I quote, "you’re too young to have cancer, so it’s not that."  Which kind of baffled me because plenty of young people get cancer.  Maybe just not the type of cancer that would cause pain in the area I’m having it?  I don’t know.  I won’t worry about it.  So…. I guess we’ll see.  Hopefully my blood test comes back normal.  When they did a blood count before I had my appendix out it was pretty high but after the surgery it went down.  Which doesn’t make much sense since my appendix was fine and all.  Maybe it was down because of the morphine?  Or maybe it was high before the surgery because I was so worried/nervous?  I dunno.

We’re going Christmas shopping tonight.  I’m such a dork.  I made an excel spreadsheet with everyone’s names and our budget for their presents.  And then I color coded the items we’re getting and where we’re getting them from so the shopping goes smoothly.  Yes, I admit I’m a loser.  Excel excites me. 😉

We’ve also been cleaning a lot so far this weekend.  Ben’s parents are coming Sunday night and staying until Tuesday to help with the basement.

So, Thursday was my last day in my old building at work.  Monday is our first day in the new place.  It felt funny packing up all my stuff.  Taking down my pictures and cartoons and random other things.  Hopefully my drive to the new building isn’t too bad.  I guess we’ll see how it goes on Monday.

Hope you’re all doing well and having a nice Christmas pre-season so far. 🙂  I’m gonna try to catch up on reading/noting soon!
