Flesh vs. Spirit

Good morning and all praises to the Most High.

The fruits of one who is walking in the Spirit consist of things like joy, love, patience, peace, kindness, goodness, trustworthiness, self-control, gentleness, etc. In contrast, the flesh produces rotten fruit such as hatred, rage, envy, quarrels, adulteries, whoredoms, “drug sorcery,” drunkenness, foolishness, selfishness, strife, and everything else the Word is against.

The flesh (self) fights against the Spirit of a believer daily, as does the enemy. Why? Because no one can enter or inherit the Kingdom of Heaven in the flesh. One can only enter the Kingdom of Heaven in Spirit, and the only way for one to be “in Spirit” is to separate from, deny, or crucify the flesh. Denying the flesh automatically prevents the enemy from having anything to latch onto and then pull a person down with. No ego = no dark cheerleader. The enemy cannot breathe life into that which is dead, nor can he overpower the Almighty’s Spirit.

So be purposeful in not paying the flesh’s desires any mind today. Ignore it as if it is dead. Slay it with prayer if it pleads. Beat it down with the Almighty’s Word if it squirms.

It’s a daily practice that is not always easy but is always possible.
