December First!

Sooo we didn’t get the place. We had to call and harass him and leave messages for three days, and then he finally got back to us and left a message saying another couple was first in line and they “won” [yes, he actually said that]. What a jackass. I don’t want him for a landlord anyway.

Sooo I drove around yesterday looking for signs of places I could call. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find a townhouse with a dishwasher and central air unless I want to move to Kanata [far West] or Orleans [far East], which I don’t. Also, a lot of the nice places are like $1600+ a month or they don’t accept pets or whatever… and I don’t want to deal with that shit.

Anyway, I finally found a place. I gave her the last month’s rent to hold it. I haven’t seen the inside yet and I haven’t signed anything yet, but at least she is holding it until shit can be arranged. Thanksgiving is Monday [in Canada, anyway] so I won’t find out the details until Tuesday… but I feel safe now anyway. It’s a 3 bedroom townhouse with 2.5 bathrooms, a dishwasher, central air, washer and dryer, a garage, and a fireplace. The property manager said she needed to paint it and put new carpets in and it’ll be ready for December 1st. So exciting!!

So as long as this place isn’t a dive on the inside [it’s really nice on the outside] I should be good. 🙂

Yesterday started off shitty, but worked out okay afterall. The December 1st date works out much better for me because I can give 60 days notice to my apartment and not have to double-pay rent. Plus we’ll be in our new place for Christmas. 🙂

Other than that, nothing is new. I’m going home for Thanksgiving tomorrow morning. Shannon is coming with me. We don’t plan on doing much because we’re saving money for the move. Maybe go to Phantom Farm or a movie… Nichole will be home too, so that’s good. I miss her!

Anyway, I’m off. I have to work late tonight because we’re taking the kids to a hockey game. Joy. :/
