Midsummer Night’s Dream

Gentle Hearts,

Tomorrow is the official day of Summer! It marks the longest day of the year!  I can’t believe that I am experiencing a Midsummer Night’s Dream of being in England and tasting the delectable summer!  It has been two intense days of summer heat yet Hubby and I have managed to survive!  Yesterday we both went to his sister, Kim’s and we all had a lovely Sunday English Roast Dinner.

Today I have been busy cooking and cleaning.  This morning I started another bread starter and then set out to clean and organize the kitchen cabinets.

                                Accomplished Today

  1. Washed the dishes
  2. Started another sourdough bread starter
  3. cleaned the oven and overhead grill and cooker
  4. cleaned and organized two of the kitchen cabinets
  5. went shopping
  6. started dinner.  Made a pot of bolognese sauce
  7. Hoovered
  8. Washed a load of clothes

Alex and I had had the place to ourselves for a week.  His Dad and sister Samantha and his eldest sister, Sue and her husband went to Spain for a week.  They’ll be back tomorrow night!

I’m still waiting for a letter from either the hospital or the Bodlean Library which is the main library for Oxford University to get back to me regarding my job.  Hubby and his family says that personnel are usually extremely slow at handling job applications.  I wonder why.  I am merely relaxing and settling down here.  i am doing a perfectly good job at it, too.  I’ll have a job soon enough!  Let me enjoy my English Summer!
