Caterpillar on a diaper cake
Sunday was such a fun day.
In the morning, Jake did the dishes while I got to work organising (and trying to translate the list of who-gave-what) all the gifts from the baby shower the day before. I almost had everything in piles when Jake was done making all our dirty dishes sparkle. So we each grabbed a pillow and a pair of scissors, sat on the floor, and got to work cutting the tags and those stupid little plastic things that hold tags to clothes. It felt like that took FOREVER. But now we have a nice big pile of clothes to take to the laundromat. Our laundry basket is full to the top (we normally take 3 weeks worth of clothes to the laundromat in that, and they fit well… but those are folded and bub’s clothes aren’t yet… although once we have all in there, not just Saturday-gift clothes, I reckon it will take up the same amount of space) but I think that will be slightly enjoyable laundry. At the end we will have all these tiny little clothes to fold! Aww.
The rest of the day, other than a quick lunch (Jake had leftovers from the shower, I had leftover pot pie mmmmmm), shower, and dinner (beans & eggs!) was spent watching Dexter season… 6. We only had access to Showtime On Demand until midnight (or there abouts) so we had to watch it aaaalllll. Which was pretty fun, we both love that show. So glad we are caught up now. I don’t remember what happened at the very end, but I do remember us both being "Argh! They end the season with THAT?!" Such a good show.
I’ve got loads of stuff to do today and tomorrow. On Wednesday the crib is showing up (you wanna know something that really bugs me? On the crib instructions, it said "Contact us! Preferably by email! We’ll get back to you within 48 hours!" and I know there was a weekend in there, but it has still been 119 hours by my count and no response. Good thing we ignored and returned it anyway…. HAHAHA got a response right now!), so I figured that makes a good deadline for having all the crap around the apartment organised. And because I only have 2 days to do it, no time to sit around and procrastinate. Score. This entry is not procrastinating, it is in fact one of the things on my list to do. There are only 2 things that I don’t want to do, and they both involve using the phone (or they would, if I had the number for the mechanic right down the street). Everything else should be totally do-able and won’t get put off. I like lists like that!
I’m really sick of Braxton-Hicks contractions. I mean, I don’t want real ones just yet, and these don’t hurt even in the slightest, but they are rather distracting.
Sounds like you’re nesting. ^_^

I loved washing my son’s clothes before he was born 🙂 So much that I think I washed them 3 times and organised his wardrobe/drawers I don’t know how many times! I even ironed all his baby grows and sleepsuits. Now I’m lucky if I get to iron him a t-shirt and trousers!
