You’re an underwater proto-cabbage

My 6 week old knows how to play guitar.

She also said "hiii", although of course it was in between attempts for me to video her ‘talking’. That was the clearest word she’s ever said, although the cutest (and most appropriate) was when Mum was here and she grabbed her belly and said "oww".

My postpartum visit with my midwife went well. She did notice that one spot down there was kind of super-pink, so she kept poking at it asking if it was tender. At least that’s how I remember it, because "yes it is tender and stupidly painful stop poking it" is all I could think.

Appointments, especially ones in the middle of the day, ruin the whole day. Ashley and I spent the afternoon napping on the couch. She slept much longer than I did, and so I was very grateful that the pump was set up right next to where we were resting, I got to drain my very full breast and let her sleep rather than wake her to see if she would want to eat to make me feel better.

Last night I got 5 hours uninterrupted sleep. It was AWESOME.

UGH the whole apartment reeks of fresh cigarette smoke. Some asshole downstairs somehow got that smell up here. I have no idea how, all the windows are shut, so unless they were blowing smoke through the little crawlspace between here and there, it makes no sense. But it is so gross!
