reading….a pregnancy book? you?

d is currently reading one of the books i got from the library.  he’s learning all about the development of the baby and all that fun stuff.  i didn’t think he would do that.  i’m very surprised, to tell you the truth.  i’m glad though.  i like him to get involved.

i went to a bridal shower and a baby shower yesterday.  it was so hard not to say things like, "oh, that’s what i want for baby" or "how did you feel in your first trimester?"  i can’t wait until i see the doctor and find out how things are.  i hope she doesn’t tell me i should have lost weight first. if i gain a lot with baby i’ll be over 200 pounds.  i don’t want that.  i’ve never been over 200 pounds.  i was about 190 once when i was in fourth year of university but i haven’t gotten that high up since. now, i’ve gained quite a bit again since i haven’t been working and i’m getting up there. it’ll be harder to lose weight for me than for some, i’m sure, and i don’t want to struggle with my weight forever.  well, i do already, but i’ll struggle more if i’m over 200 pounds.  anyway, i’ll obviously gain the weight i need to for baby and it’s not like i’m trying that hard to resist the stuff that’s bad for me. i mix it in with fruits and stuff but…i’m still not trying THAT hard. it’s my own fault. i am bloated though so i’ll chock some weight up to that! 🙂

i think i might see if i can figure out the lawnmower that d borrowed from our friend.  he wanted it back yesterday and d wasn’t home and our grass still isn’t cut.  i don’t want his friend to get mad at d, so if i can figure it out, i might give it a whirl.  if it’s not too heavy.  then he’ll be able to give it back when he comes home from work.

I totally get what you’re saying about the weight thing! I will be going over 200 pounds with this pregnancy too and I have NEVER weighed that much! I’m scared to death!

the sensible amount of weight gain for a pregnant woman is between 7-13 kilos (15.4 – 28.6 lbs) however that’s not factoring in “proper weight gain” (c’mon who can resist cravings?). it’s sensible to keep up a good eating regeime (lots of green, leafy vegies – lots of folate – very good for baby!) and gentle, low impact exercise (swimming, aqua aerobics, swimming, pilates, yoga!)

the fitter you are now, the better chance you have of returning back to your normal weight. start your core stabilising exercises and pelvic floor muscles because they are very very important!!! if you choose to ‘breastfeed’ when baby arrives, that will also give you an excellent chance to shed some extra weight because it uses up mondo amounts of calories! xxxxxxxxx

thats good that he’s reading the book. And i actually have another baby shower to go to, but can’t cuz of the cruise. AND at the last one I was at.. thats all I wispered in my mom’s ear was that I want that and that and that! lol haha!!
