tales for tots

Sawyer had all kinds of fun at Tales for Tots. He wanted to go around and greet every single kid when we got there. He’d sit on their mat with them, yell a bit, and move on. He had the other moms (no dads present today, but usually the only dad is my yoga teacher’s husband–he works at home) laughing. He wanted to go go go. I had to practically hold him down when it started; I finally sat on a chair and let him stand on my lap. After it was done, we stayed for a bit and he played with the other babies, coloured a bit, and pulled a few books off of a shelf.
One of the moms told us about the daycare here in town (I think she works there.) It’s free once the kids turn 3 and before that it does cost something (might be worth looking into even to get him in once a week.) I asked Steph (a girl from town I know from school) about it b/c her kids go there once a week and I told her one of the people that works there has caused us some trouble (the bitch with the dogs she brings over to shit on our lawn) and Steph said if the school moves (they’re trying to move out of the church and into a small school that isn’t used anymore), she won’t be able to work there b/c she doesn’t have ECE. So, I can apply for Sawyer to go there (you can only send them for a certain amount of hours per week; i think that’s when you don’t pay for it) and I can have some time off if I want to do other stuff. So, we’ll see. Anyway, Sawyer loved playing with the other kids but I don’t like going to Early Years (plus that’s during nap time) so he needs to get around some other kids.
(this probably sounded funny because it was copy/pasted from an e-mail to dennis and then added to as needed. is it jarring to see capitals on my diary?)
anyway, sawyer and i might go with dennis into town (when he goes to class) tonight and visit u.v. if she calls back in good time. i suppose i will have to dress him again. he was experimenting with feeding himself and made a mess of his shirt. his pants had already come off long ago for a diaper change. who needs pants when you have babylegs? he’ll probably just wear jammies anyway.
hey. the WRIF stopped playing music just now…? i wonder if i’m losing connection or if it just does that? the other online radio station i had on was playing consistently. nope. connection. it was working so well. wtf?
i think i found a sippy sawyer is willing to take milk from. *thumbs up to that* i’ll test that tomorrow (his noon bottle finishes transitioning from formula to milk tomorrow.)
anyway, that’s about all i had to say.

Fun! J loved story time at the library when he was little. He’s getting too big too fast.

That’s awesome that Sawyer enjoys the company of other kidlets. That tales for tots thing sounds awesome. I don’t know of any library around here that has something similar.

I need to get De more socialized. I cant wait for our move because then I’ll have all sorts of playgroups and classes available to us. Its just so hard in an area that doesnt think that sort of thing is important for ALL children including his age group!

RYN: It’s been longer than 2 weeks, we’ve been working off and on (mostly off, hehe) for several months now. I just put him on the grown-up potty a few weeks prior to him wanting to get on it, and I was amazed he took to it so fast. He still uses his diaper more than half the time, though. Sounds like Sawyer had a great time at the library! I wish I could take Jules to something like that, but he wouldn’t sit still or be quiet if I did. Daycare for a little each week sounds great! Sawyer gets to hang out with some kids his age, and you get a little time to yourself. I hope that works out for you! Oh, and Jules won’t keep his pants on these days. I think he feels the same way, who needs ’em when ya got babylegs? 😉
