Lesson Plans
It’s been a week since I am away from my classroom. Don’t mind me. I did rested my poor brain and it was a great relief to say that I’m finally met the checkout and teacher’s duties. Now, the ideas are drawn on the back of my head, ready to map it out some time next week. I know this will be from my own account without pay. That’s okay with me though. I was feeling so intense and involved with many responsibilities, thus, I can see things a lot clearer during my summer break. I wish my paraprofessionals thought the same way and so together we can use this summer break the joy in doing changes as a fun group project and the love for our students. Love. You can have love for what you do but it isn’t enough to pay off for your living cost. I get the fact that they have a family, hobbies, or use their vacation to free themselves from too much work load and putting up with me the whole school year.
I don’t care. I will do anything to start a new academic school year with new ideas and a growth mindset
I was brainstorming for the past few days and recall when I picked up a long-term assignment as a sub teacher. Most lesson plans go by the school year calendar.
August- it has 22 day, and I included late July. Students are expected to go back t school July, but only two-day of school session that one week. I printed all the lessons accordingly. August has 5 weeks so, I might not need to start too early on lessons because I will eventually have new kindergarteners.
Weeks 1-5:
- I’m looking for possible go by August Back-to-School theme and touch base what I had taught all year worksheets such as Handwriting, learning their nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. and having some visuals for Parts of Speech on the walls in small group.
- Doing Art. So far I have printed what I’m planning to do for Week 1. I’m glad that so far that I have all the ideas in my manilas Google drive by months.
- SIPPS. I believe I have not successfully did well. I am planning to watch the videos how to incorporated the lesson and teach it with my students. I have also label it to the manila folder but I don’t think I will print the worksheets. I was thinking having students write it in a composition notebook like I have seen in a gen ed teacher. I used it with my students. Some were able to follow and write what I had on the whiteboard but for some it didn’t aligned with their knowledge. I had to use a highlight as their writing guide. That was time-consuming. I include a warm-up “Little Fox videos” the ones that the school site already added in a few SIPPS powerpoint slide lessons. I believe at certain point students were engaged with the video and repeated the the sight words, etc. But I’m not sure if I would be doing so for the next academic year.
