Tendered/ Relationship woes

I tendered my resignation one fine day.

Ok, perhaps not a fine day but anyway I tendered on Monday.

So now I’m serving my one month notice and very soon I will be out of a job, adding to the umemployment numbers. LOL.

Really went throught a tough decision. The heart and the mind fight. I think I surprised the whole office. They must have really felt that I was very happy working in this office and I loved my job. My 2nd i/c asked me if it was possible to stay and help for a while more, till the National Day period was over. I made up a lie and told her that I had a job offer and it required me to start work soon after my notice period.

Was very shock in fact when HR told me I had 12 days of leave to clear, which means my last day in office (b4 I went on leave) was 23 Jun (nxt Fri). Wow. Dunno to be happy or sad. Haha. Happy bcoz I could go off earlier than expected. Sad bcoz I had to go so fast.

I’m busy with all the handing over now. Have to clear up some work b4 I offically hand over my work to other colleagues. They will be getting someone in to replace me, but dunno how soon. Anyway it will take some time for him/her to learn the ropes and start to get into condition. My 2nd i/c will be taking over one of my projects as well as some of my current duties. She was saying she would be very busy with all these work. Yeah, now she can understand the stress I used to have… to think that when I told her I couldnt finish my work, she once said "bo bian, have to come in earlier to complete it".

Started to tell my volunteers abt my resignation. They were shocked too. Is a little sad actually coz some of them are really nice ppl and always joked and suan me. But well…..

This weekend is burnt. Got the campfire event tomorrow and Sunday morning got another swimming event. Oh, talking abt campfire, anyone heard of planting chillies to prevent the rain from coming? They were talking of doing that so that there wont be rain tomorrow. Even the scouts talked of it. But seriously speaking, I dunno if there’s any truth in it. Is it a belief or a theory?

Havent seen J since Sun. Was supposed to meet him today but he went to play soccer with his colleagues in the end. Was a bit mad at his arrangment bcoz I expected to spend Fri evening to him since my wkend kena burnt. Sigh. I suppose we can still meet tomorrow morning and early afternoon but we shall see how. These few days, our telephone conversation din go very well bcoz he was always very tired from chasing the world cup and work (maybe? Think world cup has a higher chance)…. 

Our reno has yet to start. It seemed that I am the more anxious one, always chasing him if he has contacted the contractor etc. He probably feels we dun hv to do it so fast as we will not move in yet. But to me, I dun like to leave things undone. I prefer to do it and get it over and done with. So it has been quite frustrating for the 2 of us. 

Oh, I bought a white dress for my ROM. For less than $100. Definitely less than my budget. Was expecting to pay more than $100 but couldnt see any dress which I fancy in the shopping malls. Either I did not like their design, colour or they did not hv a suitable size. Almost wanted to resort to made-to-measure dress. Well, the dress I bought is not too fantastic but really, I see no point in dolling myself too much for the ROM. After all we will still hv our customery wedding. And I just to be me. No thick make-up, no elaborate dress, etc.
