anarchy at work

Saturday was my last they of work. At this job anyway. Since it also was the last day of the entire @home account, everything turned into a complete and pleasant situation of anarchy. We ate pie and cake, without plates or otherwise. We played tennis on the Wii, via the beamer. And no one cared about Average Handling Time or rejected tickets. None of the tickets that we sent to the second tier could come back to haunt us anyway. People were playing music and were using there mobiles, offences which normally would result in an immediate verbal warning. People plugged in their laptops to play games, everything was allowed.

I will miss my colleagues, but I won’t miss this company.

Today I applied for a job at a good-causes lottery. It seems suitable enough, and it pays more than I’m used to (€9,13). The systems they use are all situated in a DOS environment, which is something different. And it is closer to home too.

Tomorrow I’m going to a temping agency to see if I can get a job for the ING bank.

I’m getting calls all the time. Putting my CV on monsterboard has taken care of that. All these phone calls make the adrenaline pump through my body like mad. A couple of years ago I wouldn’t have dared calling a temp agency, now I’m fine with it. So maybe I’m still growing.
