call for jobs

I’m getting phone calls all through the day. And I’m not even working. No, this is in order to get a job. All calls start by saying that ‘they’ have found my CV on Monsterboard, and if I’m still available. Most of the times ‘they’ don’t even have something suitable. Today I did get one thing interesting though, a job at the ticket office for Joop van den Ende musicals. Located at Schiphol airport, and very flexible. Even on Saturday and Sunday evenings!

As preparation for my job interview at the ING bank I went to see how I should get there. It is a 13 minute walk from Sloterdijk, which means a total traveling time of less than 40 minutes. At ING they will be a bit less flexible, but it pays a lot (€9,77). It is also a "real" job. Much more responsibility, which means that it will be more of a challenge.

So, what do I want? Something challenging and hard, or something boring and easy? Keep in mind that I will be doing all this next to a full time study of English.

I’ll have to take a very close look at their job offers. Length of contract, pay, flexibility. What to do?

Just to clear my mind a bit I decided not to plan any interviews before next week Thursday. And I cancelled my interview at Tom Tom’s. I don’t even have a car. So I wouldn’t feel connected to their road navigation systems anyway. I’ll also decline the good-causes lottery, their way of selling extra lottery tickets is too sneaky, and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable.
