Interview and teen idols
Went to see ‘Interview’, the remake from Theo van Gogh’s movie with the same name. The movie is literally an interview of a B-actress. The interviewer thinks this is below his standard and shows up totally unprepared. The interview seems to end prematurely, but after an accident they end up in her apartment. Here the interviewer finds the actress’ diary on the computer, which results in a kind of battle between the sexes.
I liked it, although, having seen the original, I knew what was going to happen, which made it a bit boring. The acting was better, and the use of a computer instead of a ‘traditional diary’ made everything a bit more realistic. What I liked more about the original is that I know who Katja Schuurman is, whereas I don’t know the actress of the remake (although I kept thinking that I must have seen her somewhere before).
In the evening I watched even more moving images accompanied with sound, i.e. the television. VH1’s top 100 teen-idols. I really shouldn’t have done this, since it lasted about 5 hours. But it did bring back lots of memories. Stars from: 90210, the breakfast club, heathers, saved by the bell, war games, family ties, growing pains. Programmes I grew up with. Winona Ryder, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, Alyssa Milano.
Ah, the memories.
