my job comes to an end

 Last Friday when I arrived at work and read my emails it became clear that my job will come to an end. The account that I work for will be eliminated by the 1st of July. And because my contract will end the 8th of that month I really don’t have any hope that it’ll be renewed. The atmosphere at work is really strange now. You maybe can image how it feels when your own employer is sending you emails about vacancies at other companies. Now, one by one, people are leaving. A couple can be placed on another account, but since these are all much more technical than the one am working at it is very unlikely I will have a chance there.

Yesterday, during a break, one of the supervisors just started asking someone all kinds of questions about reinstalling software and firewalls. These questions came out of nowhere, and I gather that this was some kind of informal job interview. He also asked me some questions, but I don’t even have a computer.

Work yesterday was pretty relaxed, considering, 8.5 hours, but I really didn’t get many calls. There was plenty of time to read or do online quizzes in between calls. All supervisors are bored to death, which is a result of all projects being cancelled. They just don’t have anything to do.

Everyone is glad when the receive something as simple as an email.
