third day semi finals

I’m really tired and will keep it short. Today was the third day of the semi finals draughts. In my first game I played B. Ramdien and had the better position. Winning such a position is always very difficult, especially against this player. In a 6×6 he made a mistake and he had to find the drawing game plan. Unfortunately he did. The game had started at 9.30 and ended around 2.15. After a short break the second game started at 3 and I played Thijssen, five fold National champion. After about 10 moves it became apparent that I would have to fight to get a draw. In a 12×12 classical position I was afraid I would be running out of playable moves. Later analysis shows that I was correct in my taxation. So instead I entered an endgame in which my opponent made king first. I had to sacrifice to also make king. I was one piece behind, made a mistake and lost. Maybe the position already was loosing. Now I’m back at 50% and only have a theoretical chance of placing in the best three.

I played about 10 hours in total and am exhausted.
I burned my food today. I wasn’t paying attention. I shouldn’t play unstructured rapid games against the computer.
