For the course in Advanced ENGLISH Language skills we had to transform a normal written text into a web-text. This means making shorter and easier sentences and inserting sub-headings and bullet points. This seems to be a rather interesting assignment, especially since I am specialising in linguistics. However, the weird thing about this all is that we had to do the assignment in DUTCH. I am not studying English to do that. And, moreover, the course even has the word ‘English’ in its name!

Of course, being a good student, I did hand the assignment in. I’ll probably get a good mark for it as well. Some of our non-Dutch students will have a hard time doing this assignment though.
