I upgraded the netbook I’ve been using since like 2009 to Windows and and SUDDENLY OD is incompatible with that version of Internet Explorer and I can’t be bothered to install Chrome for one website.
Why have I gone back to using my ancient netbook? Because, and I’m not sure how many of you knew this but my company is under going a possible merger with T-Mobile and I don’t really want to use company stuff for personal stuff anymore even if I’m technically off the clock in the breakroom using my own wifi (my own MiFi I use through another carrier as in one other than the one I work for and not a hotspot I’m creating on one of my test accounts). ANYWAYS…so my interneting time at work is severly limited when it comes to OD since I can’t do more than type a title and guess what-according to the homepage, helpdesk is down and the DM is MIA. I’m not even interested in looking into it.
So here’s what I’ve been trying to write about…
1) Issues at home. Long story and I can’t even put it into words any more because I’ve put it off too long and now it will need way too much back story so it’s just not worth it but I’m left feeling lonely and not sure what to do and very a lone thanks to my husbands 3-11 schedule and Vivien entering the terrible twos ahead of schedule.
2) Vivien entered the terrible twos. Apparently it’s going to get worse.
3) Vivien entered the toddler class at school and officially starts the "real" Montessori work. Yay! Also prices drops a bunch, but is still a great deal more than our mortgage.
4) We had the 18 month appointment and I was most nervous about this. Mostly speech related. Vivien has yet to talk a lot. Beyond barely murmuring Mama one time at Christmas when she was wailing she hasn’t ever said my name.
Words she says often:
This
Fish
Juice. We believe this to refer to most food and all drinks
Ferrous (sort of, also she uses this to refer to Oliver, and dogs in general)
What
Where
Da!! Always yelled.
Night
Bye
Things she says from time to time
More juice please
Thank you
Thanks
Please
More. It’s more common that she uses sign language for Please and More though.
Things she has said one time:
Fix this please. She handed me the remote control after hitting the fast forward button on the DVR.
Give me a kiss.
Good night.
Love you.
All done now.
Down please.
The Dr said she’s probably said a lot more but I haven’t really kept a list. Which is likely true. He asked if she was generally cautious in other areas. And she is. He asked if her teachers say if she talks. And I asked recently and again this week since she’s been transitioing for a while both times they say that she doesn’t speak much but since she comprehends like a champ (she is the school wide help apparently as she understand most of what you tell her and remembers faces well) so they haven’t been worried at all they just think she’ll talk when she’s ready. He thinks she’s just making sure she’ll get it right when she does. Like she did with the remote thing.
But it’s really had me worried because all signs point to her being very smart I was worried that he speech was delayed for some reason.
However after he watched her for a while, he really just thinks she’s just cautious and quiet and maybe a bit shy. But certainly not delayed. So that’s a big relief.
We had a rough night last night, she got up around 3, we think because of her teeth. Some molars are coming in and it took a long time to get her settled back in-like 3 hours so I got no sleep. She got no sleep. Plus right as she was apparently getting into naptime at school we came and woke her up to take her to the Dr’s so she missed her nap and by the time we got home that window had closed. I finally convinced her to lay down around 5. I’m really not sure if she’ll get up again. Dinner’s all set if she does but I really would like her to sleep until morning. I know that’s a long shot. We’ll have to see!
You must download Chrome. I will never go back to any other web browser! 🙂 Hope things get better for you at home!
