1638 I’m ready for some happy.

Ok, I think it’ll be awhile before I’m ready to crank out the ol’ Saucy Scale, but I for one could use a happy entry outta "TG".

I think most of you read my darling hubby TBU, but for those of you not so much in the know, here’s a blurb to get you up to speed….

Right.  So, we’re having another boy.

The beginning of this 2nd pregnancy has been very different our 1st.  I had NOTHING to complain about when I was pregnant with Mister Gus – other than the gestational diabetes and extreme exhaustion, really.  I felt pretty darn good, really.

Not so much with Mr2.

About a month into it, I was pretty sick.  All day.  Every day.  I kept sour candy nearby to keep the nausea at bay.  I tried 3 different prenatal vitamins until my doc finally gave me the "magic bullet" (aka: 2 Flinstones chewables/day).  I was chasing around a toddler, not getting enough nap time, and feeling pretty darn terrible.  (I won’t even elaborate on the the obvious added stress of having my own sick mommy.)

Because this pregnancy has been so much harder, TBU and I were both positive that Baby #2 would be a girl.

When we through our impromptu "Let’s cheat and find out the gender of this baby!" Party, we were both shocked to learn that Baby #2 was going to be a boy.

When I say shocked, I mean it.

If we’d completed this pregnancy w/o learning that Baby #2 is actually Mr2, and the doc had declared "it’s a boy!" at delivery, I’d have said "check again, ’cause that can’t possibly be right!".    I mean that with all seriousness.  That news would’ve come as the biggest surprise to me.

Since it was always our plan to NOT find out the gender and I had a very ill mommy, we long ago decided on a gender neutral first name that would honor my mom regardless of baby’s gender.  We’ve stuck with that decision.  We plan to share that name with you when Mr2 actually arrives.

I’m not really sure when it happened, but somewhere along the way I stopped feeling so sick all the time.  Not complaining, mind you.  So far, no signs of gestational diabetes this time around (thank you, Jesus).  Mister Gus and I have gotten into the habit of a nice long nap together every afternoon.  (Which is good since the baby dancing on my bladder prevents me from completing a decent night’s sleep.)

I feel bad, I was so preoccupied with all the other stuff going on, that this pregnancy has really passed me by.  Now that we’re about to close the books on 2006, I’m realizing that Birth Day is quickly approaching.  And I better get on the ball.

Yesterday I decided to tackle the closet organization issues.  I did a bang-up job of sorting through all the baby clothes, too.  I got all the tiniest things out of storage and into the washing machine.  Man, but Mister Gus had some cute clothes.  It tweaked my heartstrings to see these little things Gus used to wear!

Today we’ll be hanging pictures around the house.  (Yes, we’ve lived in this house for a year now & there are only 3 pictures hanging in the entire place.)  We had the nursery painted a few months ago & it’s time to hang some cute stuff in there!

Alright, it’s nearing 6:30 am…maybe I should lie down and see if Mr2 will let me get a few more hours of sleep.

5 Things That Make Me Happy:

1. TBU

2. Gus

3. Mr2

4. Baby Girl

5. Nesting.  Take 2.

Glad you are not feeling so sick all the time. Even pre-pregnancy, I would get up once a night to use the bathroom, but I really appreciate that now, since on average I am up about 4 times. I cannot WAIT to have my personal plumbing restored. LOL. I have 11 weeks left, and you’re maybe a week after, I think? It seemed to be dragging, but now it’s going by so fast and I’m getting anxious. Have a great day. *hug*
