Saucy Scale:  10

I took another test this morning…just to be sure.  Yup…there it was.  The tell tale second blue line.  Looks like our family will be growing by one more.

Not an official due date, by any means, but we’re guessing this one will be showing up in the March/April timeframe.  (Apparently all my babies prefer to make Spring arrivals!)

I’ve already gone ahead and called my OB/GYN to get my appointments started.  Thanks to that ever popular "Advanced Maternal Age" that I’ve got going for me, I’ve got my first appointment next Friday.  This is where the Doc is obligated to tell me all the things that could go wrong & do I want to consider having a bunch of tests for scary things like genetic markers.  Here’s my answer, "nope."

When Mattson was percolating, TBU and I went to the Advance Maternal Age discussion together.  We agreed then and now that it doesn’t really matter.  We prayed for this child and we want this child.  The test results do not come back perfectly.  It really is nothing more than a game of odds.  We don’t believe that the odds are against us.  And if you know us at all, then you know that even if a test was absolutely 110% conclusive for something like Downs Syndrome, we would still have this baby.  PERIOD.

So, I’ll go to the obligatory appointment.  I’ll listen.  I’ll decline just about all the testing.  I’ll take the HIV & whatnot, but nothing that’s designed to check for genetic markers.

Speaking of tests…I’m gonna go find my blood glucose monitor.  It’s time to start looking at blood sugar levels again.  I don’t want to go through that again.  It threw me for such a loop when Gestational Diabetes (GD) developed during my 1st pregnancy.  I was ON-TOP-OF-IT the second I realized I was pregnant with Mattson & didn’t have GD.  I plan on doing anything I can to avoid it this time around, too!

So…wow!  A third baby!  When this newest one arrives, Gus will be 4 (in May) & Mattson will be 2 (in March).  This house is gonna be completely INSANE if we have 3 kids living here!  Good thing we’re already in the midst of our house hunt.

Lots of changes coming for the House of U in the next 9 months or so!

Ok, you know I want this baby under any circumstances, right?  Could you please cross your fingers and wish for a baby girl this time around?  I know I shouldn’t say that and *jinx* myself or anything, but it would be swell to have a baby girl.  I love my boys, but it’s just me and Baby Girl keeping things girlie around here.

Besides, girl clothes are so much cuter than boy clothes!

Congratulations!!!!! I didn’t know you had GD during your first pregnancy (or maybe I did and forgot). I’ve got it now and it ain’t fun as you know but totally doable. Anyway, crossing fingers for that elusive girl 🙂

I am pregnant now with my third. The first two were girls and we got a boy this time. I hope you get the reverse! Ours were timed much differently than yours, though. Six years between the first two and 5 years between the last and this one.
