1716 Busy Bee

Saucy Scale: 7

It’s Thursday morning, which means it’s Gusser’s day to spend a few hours at Mom’s Day Out (Thank you, Jesus!).  Mattson and I have a very full morning, not so much of bonding, but of boring errands.  Right now, Mr. M is "hiding" behind the drapes.  He thinks he’s very sneaky.

This morning my queasy preggo senses informed me that Cheerios smell like baby poop.  Interesting.  That’s a new one for me.

I know it is probably my hormones going all whack-job, but I do NOT appreciate these huge zits that arrived in time to help me celebrate my 38th birthday.  Seriously, people.  I am too old for this sh*t.  I do not get the kind of zits that appear, pus out, and then die.  I get the huge, under the skin, hurts down to my nerve-endings, never has anything to pop, festers for weeks, kind of zits.  Very painful, yet none of the pop-able satisfaction.  In 2 days, I developed 4 of them.  I’m not happy.

TBU & I had a very important day planned for tomorrow.  My sitter had a death in the family & had to cancel on us.  I can’t seem to drum up a replacement on short notice, unfortunately.  TBU was gonna take the day off and we were gonna take the laptop & head to a coffee shop for the day to work on some Family Planning business.  We were gonna talk about some rather Big Ticket subjects like finances, budget, new house, and writing our wills.  There are other things we’d like to discuss, but I really didn’t think we’d get to all the topics within the span of this one day.  The other subjects were less "housekeeping" and more family "spiritual health" related items.  Kinda heady topics to cover in the span of one day.

Then, throw in the fact that my first OB appointment (you know, for my Advanced Maternal Age) is also scheduled for tomorrow.  That was gonna take a significant cut into our Meeting Time.  Unfortunately, I am still trying to line-up a sitter for that appointment time, only.

What a pain.  What a disappointment, too.

Oh Happy News!  Just this minute Gusser INFORMED ME that he needed to go potty!  He actually took the initiative w/o the kitchen timer to go potty on his own!  Holy cow, but this is HUGE for us!  He wastes so much time, water, & soap in the handwashing portion of the potty events.  I try to give him a little space, but if I don’t keep one eye on him, he’d use half the soap making bubbles in the sink and dripping water everywhere.

Well, I’m catching a whiff of something that smells suspiciously like Cheerios…probably a good idea to change Mattson’s diaper now.

5 Thing That Make Me Happy:

  1. A few hours to run errands w/ 1 less kid to keep track of in the stores
  2. My big boy and his Mad Potty Skillz
  3. A few hours to update the boys photo album/scrapbooks last night…loooong overdue
  4. Mattson is my snuggler
  5. Coffee still smells/tastes ok

Potty training is fun with boys. Little girls get it really quick!

Those are big topics to discuss without the availability of alcohol. Or even original recipe coffee. Go Mattson!

Guess I won’t be eating cheerios anytime soon….

Everybody poops and now so does Gusser!!!! WOOT! LOL! The pimple situation is SUCH a pain (literally). I was told by a doctor that the best thing to do for those is to soak in hot water (the hottest you can handle) with epsom salt. Eventually it’ll be the kind you so interestingly described as the ones with”pop-able satisfaction”. LOL! It works – it did it and eventually it popped butit took a bit to get it to that point. good luck!!! RYN: I can’t wait… I can’t wait… I can’t wait!!!!

Have you tried Mario Badescu drying lotion or drying cream? It’s fabulous. http://www.mariobadescu.com/productDetail.asp?ProductID=150&CatId=14

Do you guys have good coverage in the dermatologist depoartment? I get those kind of zits and my derm flushes them with some sort of saline solution and they go buh-bye in 24 hours.
