1722 The House of Summer Sick
Saucy Scale: 6
I’m guessing one of the less attentive parents at Gusser’s Mom’s Day Out program allowed a sick child in class last week. Ironically, the class artwork for that day was themed "Cover Your Sneeze, Please!". Very funny. It should’ve been "Cover Your Sneeze & Pass the Hand Sanitizer, Please!".
On Saturday morning a sniffling Gus was snuggling in our bed while we tried to pretend that we could still get some sleep (HA!). I was talking to him when he managed to land a sneeze directly in my mouth. Niiiiice. I knew I was a goner right then and there.
Yesterday morning I woke up with a scratchy throat. I played the role of the responsible parent who doesn’t wish to infect the entire church Sunday School. TBU went by himself & I stayed home with the boys. Mattson was obviously developing the Booger Fest by lunchtime.
This morning Mattson is all kinds of pathetic. TBU went in to collect him from his crib and Matty-Matt started calling out for his MAMA! But it came out so tragically funny. It was that "I’ve got a told in my nose" voice coming out of a toddler. I’ve never heard a sadder pronunciation of "Mama" before.
Oh look at that! Mattson has mastered the fine art of the Kleenex nose wipe. He walked up to the box, pulled out a Kleenex & wiped his boogers – looking all proud of himself at the same time. What a great child!
TBU couldn’t get his (somehow) still healthy butt outta here fast enough this morning, not that I blame him.
We’ve already begged off from our Monday morning playgroup. (You’re welcome!) I think we’d spend the entire day at home, but our cupboards are a bit bare. I might have to drag the boys on a mini grocery run today.
That is all.
5 Things That Make Me Healthy Happy:
- My children are snugglers
- My husband is safe in his hermetically sealed office
- No morning sickness this morning (I’ll take my tiny blessings)
- A DVR full of Gusser’s favorite mind-numbing, but age appropriate t.v. shows
- A stockpile of Kleenex that would make a Costco jealous
I hope that everyone gets well soon, with as little germy ickiness as possible! =;p

I hope you and the boys feel better soon! (But this is also how you’re going to get rid of Munchausen. Someone is always sick when she wants to do anything. You, one of the boys, the dog, it doesn’t matter who, just that you get rid of HER!)
