Saucy Scale: bite me
I started the day off with my head in my bucket.
I traipsed around after my children today.
It was the first day of actual nursery school for Mr. Gus today. On the first day of school they have a parent attend school, too. I had to find suitable childcare for Mattson, since he was not invited to attend nursery school with us.
My daddy gave me some serious attitude about being asked to watch Mattson for 2.5 hours. Which really honked me off. I never ask him to do anything & when I really need him, he gets all scared of the potential of a poopy diaper and hems & haws until you just say "screw it" and find someone else to help out.
Well, you know what? You don’t get to be the Happy Fun-Time Grandpa all the time. Sometimes you have to actually volunteer and help out when your family needs you. That’s what a family is all about, afterall.
Sometimes I wonder if he listens to a word we say. When I phoned my mother’s best friend to tell her about the twins, she told me about a recent conversation she’d had with my daddy. He told her I was "doing great" and "not all that sick"…..WHAT THE F*CK? Where the heck is he getting this information? How many times do I have to say "I threw up 3 times today" before he gets it?
So anyway, I took Mattson to the YMCA for 3 hours of childcare. I was all stressed out that I would be late getting from one end of town to the other. It all worked out, but I was stressed until it was all said & done.
The boys and I let Grandpa buy us lunch.
We came home for nap-time. Which was a complete & utter failure. Lesson learned: no more celebratory M&M pancakes before bedtime.
I have a headache. I’m nauseous. I haven’t had my nap. I want to put my children out on the frontporch to fend for themselves.
TGIFNight & TBU will save me in an hour or so (and he’s bringing provisions).
5 Things That Make Me Happy:
- It’s 5:01 and only a matter of time until Prince Charming gets home
- The children might live ’til he gets here
- I want my fried rice
- My darling brother even offered to watch Mattson for me today
- Tomorrow morning…we’re going to go sign on the line for our new house.
congratulations on the new house! 🙂 [my dad is the same as yours when it comes to diapers.]

Grandpas are weird about diaper duty. TheMan usually gets home at 7. I start the count down at roughly 5:30.

I just can’t imagine being pregnant w/ twins! I have days like that all the time when I literally count the minutes until B gets home.

I have a friend who is in a similar situation as you are. She has a Joovy where the toddler stands on the back. I know she had to buy adapters for the carseats but it seems much more managable because it is shorter. Also, Foundations makes one that is a quadrouple stroller. I’ve seen it in action (a lady in my stroller fitness class had two sets of twins. It could be worse.) and it seems pretty easy. Might work for all 4 and who says you can’t leave a seat open or use it for storage?

Where are you guys moving? I’m so sad that you are feeling so crappy but after reading you for so long, and your saucy scale, to see it say “bite me” for some reason really was funny. Even though I know that me saying that probably makes you want to punch me in the face. 🙁 LOL.

Please see note under your “holy guacamole” entry… LOL! New house… do you have enough rooms?
