1748 Ready for the weekend
Saucy Scale: 10
The aforementioned super secret date with my darling hubby? (If you read him, you already know this part…) That TBU can really pick out the most perfect presents! Three months ago he squirrelled away a couple of tickets to (a repeatedly sold out) Kathy Griffin show at The Chicago Theatre. What a great surprise!
It was safe to assume we were going to some sort of theater event, but I made a serious effort to not do any research about the shows playing downtown. To be honest, I was a little afraid that we had tickets to something like Dirty Dancing or Jersey Boys.
We enjoyed a yummy dinner (halibut for him & filet mignon for me) out in the burbs. This was a last minute decision, but worked to our advantage… a major rain + rush hour traffic = long and waste of time commute. We had less than a full hour to make it downtown, park, & make it to our (still undisclosed) venue and event. Which we somehow managed to accomplish!
He never announced the actual name of the show to me. He just drove us to the parking garage and pointed out the marquee at The Chicago Theatre. Kathy Griffin! YAY! I seriously love Her Raunchy Highness!
I really wish that Kathy hadn’t promised blowjobs to all the straight guys in the audience, however.
I felt more than a little guilty about keeping our babysitter out so late on a Wednesday night. I had to guess what time we’d be home that night & we didn’t even come close to getting home on time. I’d be amazed if she got home by midnight. I really need to call and apologize to her mother. Luckily, we don’t pull this crap on a regular basis, so I’m sure all will be forgiven.
I’m looking forward to a nice weekend at home with the family. This is our first quiet weekend at home in 4 weeks. There’s really not much on our agenda – we need to go pick out Halloween costumes for the boys. I’m seriously clueless about what to get. My brother made a very un-PC costume suggestion: Hobos.
Gus doesn’t know what a hobo is, but he’s on board apparently. (He doesn’t know what a hobo is, but he thinks he dressing as a character from Go Diego Go! aka: The Bobo Brothers.
I need to find a more appropriate costumes for my baby boys.
Speaking of babies…the ones in my belly are quite active this evening. I’m getting kicked every which way.
Next Tueday morning is my perinatalogy ultrasound appointment. Supposedly we’ll be able to work some magic and perhaps even figure out just what kind of babies are perking away in there. I can’t wait to find out if there are boy parts or girl parts growing in there!
That’s about it, I guess. Have a good weekend.
5 Things That Make Me Happy:
- My husband is hands down the best gift giver ever.
- Mattson is definitely the Lord of the Dance. He loves car dancing, but anytime music starts up, he’s ready to shake his groove thang.
- Gusser reminded his daddy of some rules as he was tucked into bed this evening. They included: no kissing, no shoving, no biting, and be gentle. Who’s been talking to my kid?
- Getting the nursery school’s recipe for homemade playdough – which included orange food color and pumpkin pie spice!
- Baby Girl went to the groomer today and she looks/smells lovely
i’m jealous about kathy griffin. good job, tbu! are you going to tell us when you find out if the twins are boys or girls?
