1762 Making my plan
Saucy Scale: 10
I must’ve bumped something – b/c my laptop screen just darkened a bit – making it really difficult to see my screen. At least, I hope I did something & it isn’t an actual technical glitch.
Well, I don’t know how I did it, but somehow I passed my 3 hour glucose test. Glory, Glory Hallelujah!
This week I’ve noticed that the debilitating exhaustion might even be letting up a bit. A bit.
The ladies at church have been delightful. One offered to come with her teenage daughters to clean my house! A lovely offer, but I just can’t allow that to happen. Could you imagine letting a stranger scrub you potties? I cannot. I thought of another way they can help me…I asked if maybe they could come help me with some Christmas baking. Which I will never accomplish on my own! If I let another year pass without making the traditional Swedish Lucia buns made, I’ll be very sad.
Thank goodness my MIL and FIL visited last weekend & defrosted my large freezer for me! It is all ready to be packed full of stuff to eat once these babies arrive!
I made my first casserole out of the Taste of Home cookbook/magazine. It was so yummy! So, I’d like to make a few more to freeze, but there’s a glitch. The recipe is layered with slices of potato. I imagine that freezing an uncooked casserole with raw potato would turn out really gross. I guess I’ll have to bake them first.
I’m making my second TofH casserole tonight. It is one of many versions of tater tot casserole. This one has more veggies than some of the recipes I’ve seen.
I swear, I’m growing my hair long and changing my name to Michelle Duggar!
This is an amazingly busy week for me. Most of my days are pretty normal, but I’m out every night this week. I have to make sure I get my daily nap if I want to survive the evenings.
I’ve started having physical therapy on my foot. The podiatrist wouldn’t order an x-ray (being preggo & all), which makes diagnosis a bit tough. The jury is still out. Some think it is osteo-arthritis (hello, I’m feeling very old & frail now!), but some think that it is more than likely another instance of tendonitis. I prefer the tendonitis diagnosis, myself. The physical therapy feels good, so I’ll keep going. I feel so bad for those poor physical therapists who have to work on my feet! I really need a pedicure in the worst way. My hooves are B-A-D! Lord knows I can’t get down there are clean them up myself. I need to make the time to visit the local Vietnamese Foot Palace.
Tonight should be fun though! The Mothers of Twins group is having an outing! They arranged a Moms Night Out shopping & cocktail time at a few local stores in downtown Our Town. I’m most looking forward to the final store on the agenda…a really cute high-end children’s boutique. I usually can’t afford to shop there (plus some of their stuff is totally impractical), but tonight she’s offering us a hefty discount on our purchases. I can’t wait to check it out!
I have been busting my hump for this auction. I had a sudden burst of desire to do some serious work. I’m meeting with my co-chair and our boss tomorrow night – a progress report. I just don’t want to look like a schlump, I guess.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still planning to bail on the event after the first of the year, but I’m still plugging away for the moment.
I figure, if I send out a bajillion solicitation requests now, somebody else can make the follow-up calls, and pick-up the donations in January…when I’ll be resting on my laurels.
My calendar & agenda can send me reeling, if I let it.
The other day I was running over things in my head. I realized that once Thanksgiving is over, it is December.
Ok, the whole month of December will be spent getting things ready for Christmas & then New Years.
So, it’s practically January already.
Even though they aren’t due until March 18th, I’ve always assumed that these babies might arrive anytime after Valentine’s Day.
See what I mean? I feel good now, but what if I lose my energy again in the 3rd trimester? If there is stuff to do, now is the time to get it done!
- Dental cleaning
- Haircut/highlights
- Baking
- Large scale cooking/freezing
- Multiples Refresher Course (for experienced parents having first-time multiples)
- Buying holiday gifts for teachers
- <span style=”font-family: Garamond”>Boy haircuts
- Scheduling holiday pictures
- Ordering/Mailing Christmas cards
- Making sure that baby clothes & basic equipment is out of storage
But for right now…I have a pressing engagement with a stinky diaper and the changing table.
Good Lord, girl, for being busy! My great plan was to make a bunch of food stuff to have in the freezer, too. Look where that got me??? It’s so strange–motherhood–this 2nd time around. It’s so different & Ry is definitely having some problems adjusting to his brother. I have a lot of the same things to accomplish on my to-do list. Ugh! I’d better get crackin’.

Congrats on the test and have fun on the night out.

I’m tired just reading about your to do list. Spawn will wave his hand in front of his face when he has a stinky diaper. Smelly! It’s really funny.

Where will the babies be sleeping, obvs they will share a room, but will they share a room with the boys, do the boys each have their own rooms? Thought about the nursery at all? I’mso excited!!

Exactly what I was going to suggest – get everything possible done NOW! And if possible, do it on the internet. Do you guys have a place where you go and assemble make ahead meals near you? There are a ton out here and they all offer new moms and pregnant ladies the option of having them do it for you for free. It’s a bit pricey, but cheaper and healthier than eating out. Nice of your church member to volunteer. I’m sure they’ll like the baking much more than the potty scrubbing anyhow.

OK, I’ve got so much to say, I’m going to do these comments in bullets, lol! 1.) 23 weeks! Squee! I was too big to work at 24 weeks, so I remember exactly how you are feeling now! Hang in there! 2.) Yay, no GD! That’s huge!! 3.) Have I taught you nothing? If people ask what you need, you need dinner. Freeze what they bring, but let THEM cook it!! 4.) I’m glad yougot out with your twins group, did you have fun? I’m really hoping you make a real connection with another twin mom – my girls have been LIFESAVERS. 5.) Do want all my “parenting twin infants” books? I’ll ship ’em to ya!! OK off to read more on the stuff I need to catch up on!! (Ain’t insomnia grand!?!)

Shew, before you know it those sweet babies are going to be here!!! Please don’t grow your hair like Michelle Duggar. PLEASE!!! I’m not sure why this just flashed into my mind but it did. It is so strange changing a girl’s diaper when you are used to boys. Just putting that out there.
