Saucy Scale: 8
Friday was a Snow Day. Both Gusser’s nursery school & Matty’s PDO were cancelled. Not to sound like a mean mama, but I was kinda looking forward to having a few hours of alone-time Friday morning. We stayed home & played instead. I was going to give all the teachers their Christmas presents, too! There’s no school next week, so I’ll have to wait until after New Years now. Bummer.
Of fudge! I just realized that I missed out on the 3rd year of our family tradition…having lunch with Grandpa J at our regular place & having pictures taken with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Poop! That would have been on Snow Day Friday.
Everything Christmas related seems to be speeding by me this year. We haven’t even taken a photo of our boys, so there is no Christmas card. (Maybe we can get it together for a New Years card?) We literally finished our Christmas shopping yesterday! Talk about last minute shopping! Jeesh. I gave up on the idea of even trying to bake cookies this year. A friend volunteered to "share the wealth" and made extras to share with us.
Mattson has managed to pick up yet another cold…just in time for Christmas. Greeeeeat. So, while it is Sunday morning, Matty and I have opted to stay home instead of sharing the boogery Christmas joy with all the toddlers at church. (You’re Welcome!) It is bitter cold outside, so it’s just as well.
I saw my favorite Nurse Practitioner (NP) this past week for our regular check-up. We’re all doing fine. My only complaint at the moment is the burning ligament pain on the left side of my pubic bone. It is this searing pain ALL-THE-TIME! I realize that this is my body’s way of preparing for delivery, but it seems unfair that I have to deal with this since I’ll be having another c-section. I tried telling this to my burning nether-regions this, but I was met with total disregard.
Even though I’m 27 weeks pregnant, my belly is measuring at 34 weeks pregnant. Which translates into: B-I-G.
I know that we’ll schedule our c-section a few weeks before my EDD (March 18th), to make sure I don’t risk going into labor. The NP said that it could be as early as the 37th week – which means FEBRUARY! Of course, I was checking the calendar & realized that Fat Tuesday (a Mardi Gras date of great importance) is Feb. 24th. Seeing as how I am a native of New Orleans, I think it would be FABULOUS to give birth on the 24th! You won’t know our baby names until after they arrive, but I think you’ll agree that they are suitably Southern (and even Mardi Gras-related) names! I am giggling with glee at the prospect of having Fat Tueday babies!
I have sought much counsel about the Nursery School Auction. I have decided that between a disagreeable Boss Lady and the dwindling number of weeks until the babies are born…it is time to step aside and let someone else run this auction. I was supposed to have a discussion with someone about this on Friday, but we had that Snow Day instead. Bummer.
Oh my goodness! Mattson has decided to be naked baby. First he removed his shirt. Then his warm pants. Now even his diaper is gone. Of course, if you wanna strip naked & then proceed to bend over to play with toy cars…you better believe that your mama is going to take LOADS of pictures to document the moment!
This kid loves to dance. When the theme songs of his favorite t.v. shows play, he is always up and dancing. I just enjoyed a naked Handy Manny dance.
When I approached him with his clothes & diaper, he replied, "No Way!"
Yep, he’s got my attitude problem.
I guess I need to catch him, wipe his boogery nose/face, and try to diaper him before his daddy gets home from church and wonders what the heck we were doing here today!
Oh yeah…it’s very hit or miss with sizes & colors, but if you are looking for some MAJOR deals, check out the sale/clearance section online at Pottery Barn Kids for baby clothes. There are some great bargains if you are willing to do some hunting!
