Saucy Scale: 9

My current life might appear rather mundane compared to my younger years.  I don’t care.  I’m loving it.  Maybe not every minute (like the minutes when the Big Boys are screaming banshees), but most of them are pretty awesome.

The Minis are officially 12 weeks old.  That’s 3 months old to the rest of the world.  This is where I quit counting their ages in weeks when strangers ask how old they are.  It just confuses me.  Actually, I get confused later on when they are many months old and I’m supposed to be able to give their ages in months.  It’s just too much math for me.  Get real: 24 months = 2 years old.

And Gus turns 4 on Friday (which coincidently his last day of nursery school for the year).  My baby turns 4.  Holy moley.  When did that happen?  How did that happen?

Miss Clementine has been working quite hard on her overnight sleeping skillz.  (I’m sure that if she wasn’t sharing a bed with Rex, she’d have already slept thru the night ages ago.)  The past few nights have been good.  Last night was AWESOME!  She had a late night nummy at midnight & then she didn’t wake for another nummy until after 6am this morning.  God bless that little doll.

Rex is still quite a fan of the overnight nummies.  Traditionally he would nurse 2 or 3 times for every 1 time that she would wake up for a snack.  He’s getting better, but he does get up a few more times per night.

Our Darling Clementine has succeeded in becoming a thumbsucker.  No more of those lame-o pacifiers!  So it’s official: 2 out of 4 of The Monkeys are thumbsuckers!  I love it!

Today was "Dry Lady Day".   When she comes to our house, she starts cleaning upstairs – and we all hang out downstairs.  When she finishes up there and comes to clean downstairs, it is just not good enough to lock us upstairs.  We have to have an outing or destination to get us out of the house & more importantly, out of her way.  Today was the first time I’ve had 4 children & no M-I-L in town to help wrangle the children.  CRAP!

We had amazing weather today & I was able to take the children to a park to play.  (I’m not crazy!  I DO NOT attempt this sort of thing without help.)  We met Uncle Boogie at a great park near his office.  It was great.  A great park, great help, & great weather!   I’m so glad that I dragged my camera along for the ride!  I took some AMAZING photos of the children.  I can’t wait to get them off my camera & onto a computer!

I took this one spectacular close-up of Rex.  It is the spitting image of a photo I took of Mattson.  Look at the photo of Mattson on my Diary Page…that’s the one I’m talking about.  Seriously, it looks like the same kid.  I’ll get it posted here one of these days.

Oh goodness.  It’s getting late.  The Minis will be asking for their late night snack here soon.  I should get ready for bed in preparation for their wake-up call.

5 Things That Make Me Happy:

  1. My beautiful charm bracelet.  The charms go in order…starting with our wedding day, a charm to document the birth of each of the children, and a few other important occasions.  It’s just lovely.  I love the way it jingles.
  2. Dry Lady Day.  No question about it.
  3. Old stuff on the DVR.  Hey, it’s still new to me.
  4. Matthew West "The Motions"
  5. It’s officially "Large Iced Decaf with Cream & 3 Splendas" season at Dunkin Donuts!  WAHOOO!

I don’t get the whole “38 weeks” or “26 months” thing either. Glad I’m not the only one. I have a friend would describe her son as “25 months” and I’d think “um, he’s 2.” Glad you’re so happy in this entry.

We all are anxious to see the photos. You are a rock-star, you know, with 4 kids at a park. I always had trouble with one, and I remember being nearly in tears before Kelly came along, thinking “how do you EVER do it with two?????” Hah! Yes, we look back on these days and laugh.
