MayMetMo 2020 #2: Sugar for Temporary

Sipping tea through rotted teeth another scoop of sweet white grains stirs the hot liquid, blown on, and sipped.  Teeth have holes and yellowed around the edges black, but the tea is strong and sweet, and in this moment that is all that matters.  The day turning purple on the horizon as a mountain of sugar in the background attracts ants.  While the tea is sipped and stirred until the spoon stands straight up in the cup.  Cupboard overflowing, white granules flow freely, a desert of white sand.   picked up from the high backed chair atop like a dragon’s hoard of white crystals and splashed into the chalice, freely.   A skeleton devoid of life pouring tea into a cup just to have something to mix the sugar with.   Life has worn out over the course of tea times, melted in the sun through the dead roof, long after the world has come and gone.
