And I awake.

Well, okay. That wasn’t perfect sleep, but it was something. Didn’t help when I woke up at 1 AM with a cough from hell. I got up and took some Robo, and then went back to sleep. I awoke around 3:50 and realized I was done sleeping. By “done”, I mean, I felt like I couldn’t sleep anymore. I know my body. That feeling I used to get during the day when I was nocturnal? That feeling said “CRAWL INTO A BALL AND ENJOY THE WARMTH. STAY YOUR ASS IN BED.” This feeling felt like, “Congratulations, you’ve woken up the next day before any living creature ever has to think about waking up.”

When I have time on my side, I like rolling around in bed and just enjoying the fact that I’m rested. That familiar grapple to stay in bed wasn’t there. Felt nice.

I’m thinking the nap I had yesterday caused this. That and the fact that my body isn’t used to sleeping at night. My goal is to simply GOTO bed at the same time or earlier. I fell asleep last night. It’s going to be at least 18 hours before I consider sleeping, so I should be nice and tired by then. Or, at least, be able to fall asleep.

It’s different to wake up at 4 AM, than it is to GOTO bed at 4 AM. Before, I felt like I could stay awake forever. And now. I feel like nobody else in the entire world is awake. Even though that’s completely not true at all. Just. That feeling we’d get as kids if we woke up at 3 AM. Middle of the damn night. It does feel like night. But not the-night-before. It feels like the sun will come up in a few hours. I’ll try and wait until then to have breakfast. Have my meals make sense.

My mom asked me last night how much hard drive cost. I told her, depending on what you get, maybe $60 – $100. Then she said, “Oh, well, I know you can get an entire one for five hundred dollars.” My mom isn’t good with words anymore. She meant computer.

I’m puzzled. Is there a plot afoot? I have a simple feeling about computers: Might as well wait so you can get more for less. There’s no point in wasting actual dollars on something that I’d replace anyway. I have basic specs for specific reasons. Perhaps I’ll explain that to my parents. Of course, I personally don’t think I deserve a computer. At all. I’ve been such a brat.

Ick, that cough is acting up again. Eh, better than a sore throat. Sore throats.. hurt. And you can usually take shit to make a cough go away. If this robo doesn’t kick in, I’m taking a shot of liquor. It’s worked in the past.

Hmm. I better go blow my nose. I just had to jinx myself by thinking I was having an easy cold.

Just take a shot of liquor anyway!

I woke up at 2:57 this morning. 3 entire minutes before my alarm went off.

You should check the entry before the ‘blast from the past’ one! *wiggles eyebrows*

Drink some brandy, that’ll kill anything in your throat giving you a cough, 🙂

Oooh, alcohol.

Hah… or take ANOTHER shot of Robo. I accidentally got drunk on that shit before. Man… that was nuts. I barfed the next day, but slept like an infant after the buzz set in. Weird, right? I hope you feel better.

Sore throats really suck. Take care,

Ooh my poor, sick timmy. -tucks you into the couch and gets you some juice and the video game controller- Now you rest and enjoy yourself. -hugs- ps – I slept, too. Woke up, went back to sleep, got up at 7:30. Thank you for helping me sleep. I owe you. <3

Exercise might help your sleep pattern. Not crazy-hard stuff, just a little aerobic something-or-other, like a bike ride or … something. Yoga’s always good, too. And pilates. Easy stuff, doesn’t require much space to do, and it works for toning, etc. But I don’t know if you even want that.

What happened isn’t uncommon if you don’t have a time structure to your day. Your body resumes its normal clock which is seldom 24 hours. Mine is about 26. Over time you “drift” from the clock schedule because your body is following its natural rhythm. The best way to get back in sync is to follow a rigorous bedtime schedule, even if you don’t sleep at first. Ambien can help reset your clock. T
