Phones are shiny.

I wasn’t aware my half-conscious babblings on cell phones would cause people to chime in.

I realized I never mentioned what phone I currently have. Samsung Gravity TXT. It actually fits my needs rather nice. It’s just buggy. As in, it will randomly reboot and/or turn off. Battery life is decent, I can go up to a week. The charge indicator is deceiving, though. Once it goes anywhere below a full indicated charge, it’ll die within a day or two. The qwerty keyboard is a godsend compared to the classic flip-phone thumbing. If it weren’t for needing to text faster, I would have kept my flip-phone. C`mon, I’m a nerd, some part of me loved the physical action of openning it.

So I suppose I have two things I need to think about. One, whether I want data or not, and two, whether there’s actually a difference in which network carrier I choose. My flip-phone was an at&t go-phone. What I did not know until recently was that go-phone has degraded network connectivity compared to full-paying customers. Same goes for any pay-as-you-go customers. I don’t know what to believe. All I know is that for the two years I’ve had my current phone on t-mobile, Candi ALWAYS has more bars than me no matter where we go, and she’s on at&t. And she seems to be the only person who hasn’t had a problem with customer service.

If I decide not to utilize data, I’m really better off staying with a so-called quick messaging phone which people in the stores like to poo-poo. My current phone may be laughable technology compared to the iphone 7000, but it texts and makes calls just fine, which is all I really care about. Just wish I could find one that wasn’t smattered in reviews full of how buggy they are. Because I like my phone. IT’S JUST BUGGY. Ya know?

Yet, if you follow reviews, there seems to be a pattern of getting what you pay for. Higher tiered phones have less instances of people bitching. Or maybe lower-tiered people aren’t so enamored with their phone that they’d bother writing a review in the first place. I know statistics – the sampling population of those who would bother to place a review online is not representative of the entire population of people using a specific phone.

So I’ve been opening my mind to getting something shinier. I still desire qwerty and I don’t want an all-touchscreen. I’m kind of facepalming that I’ve been so scared of blackberries. Maybe I saw them as personal data assistants or just wasn’t sure whether I could text with the keys are scrunched up. Yet every review of a blackberry phone always has enough people masturbating to “the classic blackberry qwerty.” The Torch appeals to me because it’s compact and has a vertical slider. Am I the only one living in the past that remembers a similar action in the Matrix movies? I didn’t go out and buy one of those Nokias, but I sure remember the ad placement. Then there are blackberries that look like, well, blackberries. My issue with them is that they have optical trackpads. The one on my phone died a while ago (water damage) and I never was good at using it.

Which leads me to the Q10. Would be.. different to not be living in the stone age technology-wise. Even though Kelly Quark is still an impressive build of a computer. (Because, you know, I spend money on quality parts.) I’ve run some numbers and it would be cheaper for me to just be added as a second phone on Candi’s plan rather than having two separate plans.

And.

Hrm. I think that about covers it.

RYN: Lol. I can’t see myself at the gym for an hour. Maybe 45 mins at most. But Something is better than nothing right? LOL that is so weird because it wasn’t underlining the spelling error. Maybe because sterio is actually a piece of equipment!?!?! lmao i have to laugh at myself. Too lazy to go back and correct it all. Glad you are doing well. How is apartment life?

thank you for commenting on my diary posts. i would love it if more people read and commented.

R: Timmy, I just said I’m killing myself with the way I treat my body. I did NOT say, “butter mints and Fritos are healthy for ME, specifically and exclusively.” I KNOW IT WILL CATCH UP TO ME, GAHD.

Also I have no idea what caused me to rage-delete your note yesterday. I woke up this morning and regretted about 90% of my emotional reactions to things. I’m not mad! I’m just insane! (I guess those are synonyms.)
