i dont think goth has to do with clothing or anything on the outside but it has to do with the person that you are on the inside

I wouldn’t consider death metal “gothic” at all. All sorts of music can have gothic undertones. The cure is “gothic” hardly death metal. Your definition of “goth” is right on the head. The best definition, goth is on the inside, not in a tube of black nail polish.
