2 New Doll Hutches
Yesterday I got the 2 new doll hutches assembled. Diane had been asking for a pair of small glass units for her small Cabbage Patch dolls. That was what she really wanted for Christmas. She saw a unit in a flyer for Big Lots so we went there only to find out the sale didn’t start until Thursday. What we did see instead was a larger unit for a little more money. I told her I would get her one. Then I told the sales clerk to bring out 2. Diane was delighted! They’re cherry stained but rather inexpensive Chinese made things.
We put them in the bedroom, one on each side of the hall leading to the master bath. They look great. She filled them up with 40 dolls. That means 40 fewer dolls sitting on the floor around the house. It also means she doesn’t have to dust them. Even son Justin liked the way it improved the look of the house. All is well on the home front
We did make time for a walk in the woods too but it was more like a stroll. I never warmed up for the entire 45 minutes. The wind was blowing at 15mph or so which always cuts right through me. We saw lots of birds but no other wild life. One discouraging aspect of the walk was that we saw 4 abandoned cars on our walk. At least 2 had been torched. Another was pushed into the middle of a small pond. It really struck us what low life we have around here. That kind of thing would be unheard of in Vt. It’s a shame to ruin places like the woods like that. There are signs prohibiting motor vehicles from the area but we ran into some red neck on his ATV anyway. All the tracks were dug up and rutted from his selfish, illegal actions. Dirt bag.
I really miss Vermont and can’t wait to move back. It’s really hitting me hard this year.
yes, not too many dirtbags here in the Peoples Republic… I’d be “homesick” too if I was located anywhere else including my hometown… ryn – I saw a few years ago a very detailed program on PBS (I think) explaining the process of thatched roofing…
