Holiday Shopping

Yesterday Justin and I went x-mas shopping then out to dinner. Diane went to a choir concert with her friend Bonnie. Not really my thing. Plus it gave us a chance to get gifts for "our girls".  Of course, we had to start out at Best Buy to look at all the new gadgets.  I was a good boy and didn’t get anything but those 1 gig mp3 music players caught my eye. One of them was down to $129 with a rebate. It’s only a matter of time before I get one. At Hot Topic I saw a couple of small dolls from "The Corpse Bride" for Diane but the checkout line was so long I just put them back. I have little patience for long lines. Justin got Nichole some poka dot PJ’s at Victoria’s Secret along with matching slippers and some perfume. He spend $100. Dec 20 will be 2 years since they started dating. We got some little glass trinkets for stocking stuffers and I got Diane a new journal. I also got a book for Nichole on "Cleveland’s Most Ferocious Female Killers". She’s one of the only women I know who likes slasher type movies and reads books on serial killers. I always kid her about being a serial killer herself.

After the mall Nichole met us at Red Lobster for dinner. We were having such a great time engrossed in conversation that we didn’t even realize that the service was slow until our waitress kept apologizing.  They split some King crab legs and I had a platter (along with a couple gin and tonics).

Justin and I were looking at more colleges earlier in the day. I planted a seed in his mind about looking at Electrical Eng. with a minor in recording technogy. He is really into his music. I think that with his technical ability he could do very well in the field and combine talent with passion. He’s thinking about it.

It is great to read of the Ohio branch of my offspring getting into the pleasures of modern life in a genteel and modest way. Live on, dear loves.

RYN: Yes, I will be delighted to show you the pictures of Fred when you come. I am doing a full-face portrait of him for my final and I have one of him sitting in a chair.
