Squirrel House

Saturday I went to Lowes and bought some wood to make a squirrel house. There are so many of them in the backyard and with all the recent trees being cut down Diane and I thought they need more places to shelter. I got the plans off the internet. Only required 1 board 1x10x6 feet. Very simple construction. A couple hours to make, cut by hand except for the hole I used a jig saw. I stained it with deck stain and hung in in one of the oak trees out back. It’s about 15 feet off the ground and I can look into it from my office window. I even saw a critter near it the first day! I’m not sure if they’ll use it but it made me feel a little better. I hope my new shit head neighbor sees it.

Listened to the UVM hockey cats on the radio yesterday afternoon. They beat U Maine 2-1!  Since they lost to U Mass earlier in the week they may have slipped down from #5 in the national poll but Maine was #4 and they beat em!!!! I might get a chance to see them on Dec. 30. I’ll be in Vt then.  We’ll see. Still finalizing plans but looks like we’ll head to Diane’s sister’s on the 24th and then to northern Vt on the 27th. We’ll stay until the 31st.
