Track

Track started yesterday, we had our first official practice, however it turned out to only be a meeting but that ok.  I have to pay $40 for drug testing, $15 for a t-shirt, and $25 for school athletic insurance.  That sucks majorly but I’m gonna pay for it because like I’ve said before, I’m not gonna let anything get in the way of my track this year.  I have to leave here at school to go get my physical so I can practice today, the I have to go to the bank and get out that full $80 too.  Then go to practice from 3:45 to about 5:00, then I have a choir concert here at school around 7:00, and I wish I didn’t that’s for sure because I wanted to do my usual thing and go to Winchester to play ball, but noooo, I’ve gotta go sing at this damned concert. And what sucks is it’s a concert where a bunch of elementary schools are coming to sing a song each, then we only sing two songs, so it’s like, what’s the point, so I’m missing basketball tonight for nothing.

I know the title says “Track” but you know me and my randomness, I only made that the title because it was my first random topic to talk about in the particular entry.  I haven’t typed up anything controversial lately, I guess I’m kinda on a break, not in the mood for fights and debates about anything.  But most likely later I’ll come on here and type up something to get people heated and come in here and piss and moan at me so I can have something interesting to do.

This year in track I’m running my usual 400 meter dash, and I hope to get around a 52-53 second time in it this year.  Also I want to achive a 2:00 in the 800 meter run, then a 5:00 in the 1 mile run, and then maybe around a 10:25-10:30 in the 2 mile run.  Which are all decent times to be running, not great but then again I’m not looking for great, I’m just looking for better.  Cuzz so far my best 400 time is a 55, and 800 is a 2:09 and mile time is a 5:30 and 2 mile time is like 11:00.  So I am looking to make some vast improvements.  it’s been a couple of years since I last ran track, but I did go to boot camp last summer and got a lot stronger, and I still workout all the time, and since my last time running track I’ve put on an extra 20 lbs. of muscle so hopefully that’ll speed me up, but I’m not sure yet.  We shall see today I guess.

Holly’s mom did die, well her adopted mother but still, and of course I showed her nothing but sympathy, but she didn’t want any, and I knew this.  People bought her cards and shit and I knew she didn’t want any of that, not even the slightest bit of attention for it, she hated her adopted mother and was hardly even moved by her passing, and I know that sounds bad but I’m sure there was reasoning.  So I only acted the way she wanted me to act.

I had drill this last weekend and on the first day I helped take apart a wheel on this 5 ton truck and lube it up, give it a complete service job, then the second day we did some BRM (Basic Rifle Marksmanship) stuff and that was about it.  My next drill is at the end of April and we’re going down to Fort Know to actually re-qualify on our M-16A2 rifles so that’ll be interesting.  Then in May my unit is going to Germany for 3 weeks and of course I can’t go because I’m one, in school, and two, not mos qualified, or AIT qualified whatever you wanna call it.  So that sucks.  But hey, I get to go next May!
