Interview Pet Peeve
If you’re a hiring manager, and you’re spending more than 10-15+ minutes going over your own personal biography, all you’re doing is wasting peoples’ time because you like to hear yourself speak. I had to sit there and listen to my associate director deliver a monologue for the ages about his professional background and I don’t really understand why he thinks any of that is relevant. He doesn’t work directly with my team, and his career path doesn’t really translate to anyone on my team.
So 20 minutes later, I essentially had to squeeze in my own interview and technical assessment and hope that was going to leave a tiny sliver of room at the end of the meeting for the interviewee to ask any questions.
Anyway I hope all of that wasn’t written on my face.
Spot on
