I Finally Did It!!
Made it to the score of 1900 in Literati. GO TAMMY, *does the cabbage patch dance* IT’S not YOUR BIRTHDAY!! To make it even MORE memorable the dude I beat to get there played real time Scrabble tournaments. Niiiice.
*grins cheesily*
I got a lot accomplished around the house yesterday. The dogs and I went and hung out in the yard during the morning while I started 3 loads of laundry.
I was talking to Carol about the pigeons and telling her I called the animal control officer who said call a vet who said call the Audubon Society who then told me they had received 6 calls already about white pigeons showing up in people’s backyards. (Way to dash my feelings of being special *lol*) She said they are homing pigeons, that what happened was there was probably a race and a bunch of pigeons got lost. She said we could take a blanket or towel and try to catch them, check their foot tags and then look up the owner online. But that even if we found the owner they won’t want the birds because they consider the birds a failure now for getting lost. 🙁 She said that they probably got confused with the rapid changing weather and they’d probably take off on their own in a couple of weeks. She said they don’t know how to forrage for food on their own so it’s good I’ve been feeding them. Carol wants them gone now because they are shitting all over her front porch door and door handle. *LOL* They’re shitting on our porch too. I also told her to get a squirt gun because she’s kind of scared of them when they come close to her. I said if they are on her porch just squirt them. They won’t like that and will move and hopefully then associate her porch with an unpleasant experience. I like having them around. I rigged up some newspapers over her door and that’s been keeping them off the porches and on the roof so far.
They ventured next door to Joe’s for the first time yesterday morning. The funniest thing is they aren’t afraid of anything. Lucky[#3] is going NUTS over them. Of course he’s been barking his fool head off all damned weekend. As usual. Thankfully it isn’t as bad as it was last weekend. Fuckers left him out in the oppressive heat all damned day. The neighbor next to them wound up calling the cops…AGAIN…and I know he got fined again. $350.00 a pop. This is at LEAST 3 times he’s been fined that I know of. You would think he’d learn.
Ted let Tibor out without even looking to see if we were in the yard yesterday. I get a little ticked when he does this because Tibor doesn’t get along with my dogs. He used to but last year hstarted attacking them for no reason. The worst was when he had Miko’s head in his mouth!!! Tibor is a big dog, probably weighs a good 60 lbs and his teeth are HUGE!!! Any way, Tibor made a beeline right towards me, knocking over the table and bowling Gizmo over…then as I was getting up to corral mine into the basement he pissed on my shoe and foot. Grrrr…so a little annoyed I yelled, "Oh fer cripes sakes Tibor!" and Ted yelled, "What NOW?!?!" I said, "he pissed on my foot again." Carol said, "I gotta go," and raced into her apartment because she hates Ted. Ted got mad, yanked Tibor up the stairs while I was telling him I’d take my dogs into the basement while Tibor went to the bathroom outside. Yeah, so Ted spent ther remainder of the day slamming stuff around downstairs. Mad. At me. Because his dog pissed on my foot. It wasn’t like I yelled at him and kept yelling about it. I took my water from my water bottle, rinsed my foot off and was trying to tell him to hang on I was taking my dogs in… *rolls eyes* Gay men are so dramatic. So I went upstairs and cleaned the kitchen, hall, bathroom, bedroom and den. The only room I didn’t get to was the living room. I need to go down there and vacuum. Meh.
Went to church this morning. YAY! I don’t like when Brian’s schedule messes with my ability to attend Sunday mass. Father Joe was preaching. Today’s homily was about us taking care of the earth. I love when Father Joe does mass. He’s so personable and just has this amazing ray of light about him. I especially love that he comes down off the alter during the sign of peace and walks around shaking hands and hugging us. Now I am usually a few rows back, in the middle of the pew but he always blows me a kiss. 🙂 I really love that. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Sister Kathleen sat with me and Maria today. Melissa wasn’t there. I was hoping she was so I could apologize for not returning her call. Now I’ll just have to call her. Sister Kathleen told me she will be getting together with me soon because she has "the perfect elderly man in mind" for my pastoral visiting assignment. YAY! That will be nice. I did’t get a chance to ask her when the ministering schedule was coming out. I can’t wait to start ministering 🙂
Brian had to leave for work at 11:00 AM this morning…like yesterday morning. I’m asleep before he comes home and have barely seen him this weekend. He was asleep when I left for church this morning. We didn’t get to go out to breakfast together this weekend. 🙁 Meh. More money, less time with my husband. It’s always a trade-off. The money is nice, and well needed, but I miss seeing and spending time with my husband.
Finally the various infections I had have eased immensely. THANK THE LORD for that. Now lets see how long before the next affliction hits me.
Yesterday I had a mad craving for pasta. So I’m making meat sauce from scratch today. It’s simmering as we speak. I stopped at the grocery store this morning on my way home from church to get the stuff. Smells good out there. Picked up a nice loaf of italian bread to go with. Nice dinner, all by myself…*starts singing* "don’t wanna be…alllllll by myself….anymore…." Big Gay Ted is mad at me and so I won’t invite him to dinner. Hee hee. I may just vacuum all day again today to aggravate him. *snickering*
No?
…oh, all right, fine then.

I don’t get the whole fearlessness of pigeons either. I mean they’ll sit on the road until a car is practically ON them, then they don’t use their magnificent ability to fly to get away.. no no no… they waddle of taking quick short little steps and just BARELY make it!!!Why do they do that!!!!

hmm. I just got your note @ 5 pm my time. Still online?

I would go ahead and attempt to read their tags and contact the owner/owners. I found a homing pigeon once and tracked down the owner. He came over immediately to retrieve his bird. Not an overly grateful guy but I was glad that the pigeon would be back where it belonged.
