The Tale of the Naked Lady. Opinions Requested.

Saturday after working at Mildred’s I went to visit Ted to wish him a happy birthday.  The "boys" upstairs were going to just throw away this beautiful oil painting of a naked lady.  Since it had the exact same blue I am using in my bedroom and I was drawn to the painting I took it.  My bedroom colors are chocolate brown and turquoise and I have been looking or thinking about making a painting for the bedroom over the bed.

So I took her.  I just didn’t want someone’s art going into the trash.  Didn’t seem right to me and as I said, I felt oddly drawn to her.

I got home and put it right over our bed.  Brian didn’t get home until well after midnight so he never saw it.  Sunday morning he utters the following sentence upon waking up:

"Honeyyyyyy, why is there a 4-foot naked lady in the bedroom?"

I have to tell you I about died laughing because the question was funny.  If anyone had overheard that you’d think there was a very short naked lady just hiding out in our bedroom.  (By the way, I don’t think the painting is actually 4-foot tall either.)

In any case, he thought that I had the thing commissioned.  He thinks it resembles me and he thought when I called him Saturday and asked when he was getting home that this was some surprise I had cooked up for him. (Ooookay, I only wish that were my body.)   I said, "Erm, Brian, when have you ever known me to strip my clothes off in front of strangers?"  He thought someone had painted it from a picture I sent them.  Whatever, I don’t see the resemblence but he does, and that’s not a bad thing, right?

Then!  Sunday my ankle was hurting a lot from working on it all day Saturday and I assume the cold, wet weather we are having is also contributing towards it.  So I took a vicodin and then decided a nap was in order.  When I nap during the day I usually put all the dogs up on the bed with me so they’ll settle down and be quiet.  Well!  Evie took one look at that painting and all the hair on her hackles raised and she proceeded to bark and growl at naked lady over the bed!  It was fucking hilarious!!!  I couldn’t stop laughing at her.  Even when I put her on the floor she sat there barking and growling viciously.  Which is very unlike her to begin with.  I had to finally gate her out of the bedroom before she’d settle down.  Too funny.

I close now with this: Now you be the judge.  Is this tacky or tasteful?  Be honest now.  I intend on finding two really nice sconces to put on either side and maybe buying some wood to make a frame for the outside of this.  Right now its just canvas.

I like it and its your bedroom so I say go for it…M

i like it and think it is tasteful. especially how you have described displaying it. and that resembles you? you are hot, do you walk around thinking all the time, damn i am so hot? yes i randomed in here from recents and thought i would lay down my opinion.

i think it’s GORgeous. beautiful…beautiful. oh, and hi. -big hug-

tasteful. the only thing I would have changed is her breasts wouldn’t be so…perky. a little lower would have made it more realistic. but I do like it.

Not my type of thing but sometimes its easier to see within the context of the room its in

No resemblance. You’re way better!!!

I like her. She’s got a nice rack. 😉

I love it! I think it will look excellent once you’ve got everything painted. Besides, it’s in your budoir, so I think that’s a private enough place for such a painting. It’s not like it’s in your foyer, right? I think it rocks.

DUH, I don’t think you said you were painting. But it still looks awesome with the colors in your pillowcase!

I think it’s pretty.

it’s tasteful 🙂 I am sorry I have been so remiss at catching up with you. I am reading backwards as much as I can today 🙂 ::hugs::
