American Idol: So It Begins
Ok, all kinds of filler to start. Blah blah blah.
That girl who did the Jewel impression — and in front of Jewel. Oy! I think she might have been a little bit ok if she tried to be herself and not Jewel — what’s the deal with that? And how embarrassing in front of her idol. That was actually sad to see — poor thing was really upset. But what did she expect? As soon as she saw Jewel sitting there she should have picked another song. Not that it would have mattered. *catty*
Oh, that kid who sang the Theme from Titanic — how sad was that?
You can’t help but root for the girl who was a crack baby. You want her to hit it out of the park. I told Brian right before she stepped in. Watch this girl! I find that people who have suffered pain in their lives often have wonderful singing voices. Their voices draw from the pain. And I was right! Go Denise Jackson!!! She sang ‘And I Am Telling You’ and she did it well. My fingers are crossed for her. Who wouldn’t want to see this girl go far?
That version of Kiss — what on earth was that girl thinking/doing? It was crazy.
I liked the girl from Colombia — her voice could be better, but I want to see more of her. As soon as she walked in I said, "I bet she sings Shaquira" — I was almost right. 😉
The young boy with the big brown mole in the middle of his nose — that mole has got to go! Before he gets to Hollywood!
I liked the girl with the mega long curly hair who sang Over the Rainbow — nice voice and there was something interesting about her.
We’re off and running.
I thought that was a zit! i only watched an hour of it and saw the over the rainbow girl. i missed the jewel girl. i was sick of jewel being there. i hope she contributes more as the show goes on.

I watched – but have come to the conclusion that until they’ve found their starting 24, I won’t watch anymore. I’m a little concerned about Paula. True to form, she sometimes appeared drunk and barely capable of keeping her body from slumping. Or am I alone in noticing this?

You remind me of Simon, lol. But not as mean.

I said the same thing about the girl from Colombia. After she started singing, I said, “She sings Shaquira.” And I was right. (After the judges told her to sing one of her songs.)

I liked the Indian boy from last night that sang Stevie Wonder, his sister was pretty good to. I think you’re right about people having hard times having the best singing voices. After all, Ashlee Simpson was pretty well to do before she started singing and we know how her REAL singing voice is. So I guess your theiry works both ways.
