Coco Is In Love!
Coco is still eating like a champ. 🙂 I hope to be seeing some weight on him soon. How long does it normally take before I start seeing some improvement and less bones?
Friday night was a little scary. I loaded all the babies into the car for the drive up to NH. (I go there once every other week or so for tax free shopping.) Everything was fine until we got home. Coco lept from the car before we could say HEY and before I could get his leash on him and off he went. I was scared to death as he started making his way to the beach!!! Oh he was a little minx on the run! But luckily he attempted to scoot through my neighbors yard as the beach called him and encountered a large bush. So I was able to catch him. His whole little face and tail drooped at being apprehended! And he slunk up my stairs depressed because his efforts to go on the lam were snuffed.
Sunday: Coco is the single most funniest chin I’ve ever met. He’s set his loving sites on Evie (both are neutered/spayed) but Coco fell in love any way and spring fever seems to have set it. It all started yesterday. I took them out for their afternoon toilet duties and because it was so nice out let them play for awhile. Well I don’t know what happened but suddenly Coco got that loving feeling. I hadn’t heard a peep out of his mouth since taking him in. All of a sudden he’s trying to get close to Evie. She’s snarking and snuffling and having none of him. He’s feeling rejected and starts to spin and pant before approaching her again. He’s preening and swaggering and she’s snarking and snapping. All of a sudden he lets out this really loud, really sharp whine!
Then I get them in the foyer and go to put Evie into her carrier (she will not walk up the stairs and has to be lifted up them in her "basket". Coco decides she’s a captive audience now for his amorous endeavors and he puts both his paws on the back of her basket and proceeds to hang on for dear life! I tell you, I about died laughing! Evie was NOT amused. All night long this went on and it started up again this morning. Then he decides that I’ll take his sloppy seconds and climbs up on the back of the sofa and erm, starts to mount my head!!! I tell him, kindly but firmly, that I am a married woman and even if I weren’t I don’t appreciate being second choice! Brian and I were laughing so hard I about fell of the couch!
He’s persistent, that’s for sure. I am going to have to try to figure out a way to get this on my digicam for all to see as I’ve seen nothing like this before.
look how happy he sounds! you’re his hero. You really saved his life. he would have died at that shelter after another week. You can start seeing him gain some weight in about 2 weeks. Emma just had an insane growth spurt but Pumpkin put on much needed 4-5 pounds within the first few weeks 🙂

btw- update on Red in my entry. If you know of ANYONE with an open home (and no male dogs) who could help out… I know it’s a pit bull but I personally tested him, he’s been raised with small kids, and he and P get along really well. I also dyed my hair red. cha ching!

Who is Coco? How long does it take to get to NH from where you live and I did hear NH had no taxes, but I thought that was only for property taxes and not shopping. If it works for both that is good. What do you like to buy when you go to NH?

Have you ever heard of Paws Here doggy daycare in Revere? I am thinking of checking that out. We went by and looked at one in the south end but I was unimpressed with the outdoor section of it. Doggy Day Trippers will not service Chelsea and my friend has nothing but complaints about them.

I’m also waiting to hear from one of our foster homes. I do not know if she’s ready for a 3rd dog (new foster) yet! The whole thing just sucks. I really thought he was nice guy but I just do not like what he’s doing.

ryn: she’s been on solid boiled chix and rice for a week now. She is better though, finally.
