American Idol: Final – Standard Love Songs

I really wasn’t into the show tonight. 
 
Blake — Mack the Knife — The most boring version of this song I have ever heard.  Hated it.  He gave it a bit of life at the end, but not enough to save the song for me.
 
Phil — Night and Day — Kind of interesting.  A little pitchy, but I think I liked it.  And I liked it more when I didn’t watch him.  His voice sounded good.  I sure liked him a helluva lot better than Blake.
 
Melinda — I’ve Got Rhythm — Again, she’s light years better than the others.  She can sell a song.  But what was with those weird faces and mouth movements?  It was distracting for me. 
 
Chris — Don’t Get Around Much Anymore — A bit pitchy, but I liked it.  More fun than Blake tonight.  I liked what he did with the song.
 
Jordin — On A Clear Day — I wasn’t sure about her in the beginning, but when she got going, I really liked it.  Well sung.  She infuses fun in her performances.  She’s interesting me more and more, week after week.
 
Gina — Smile — Not bad — not wonderful, but not bad.  Sometimes I am so on the fence about her.  She’s certainly marketable though.
 
Sanjaya — Cheek to Cheek — This is more his element, but it had no strength, no pizzazz.  I find myself just groaning when it’s his turn to sing.  I am so over him and I really just want to see him escorted from the stage already.  Fucking Howard Stern and his band of idiot listeners.  *gives them all
 
Haley — Ain’t Misbehavin’ — One of her better performances, although she was off a few notes.  I could definitely see her singing in a lounge in Vegas.  I agree with Simon in his past comments.  She’s just so generic and forgettable that when she sings at the beginning of the show I’ve already forgotten her by the end.  When they do the recap I often find myself saying, "Oh yeah" when her clip shows. 
 
LaKisha — Stormy Weather — She was doing some odd low notes that didn’t quite work.  The first part of the song was weird, and then she got going and it was great.  I like her more than Melissa though.  Just something about Melissa’s personality is starting to gnaw at my frayed nerves.
 
Bottom 2 should be Sanjaya and Haley, but it will probably be Haley and Chris?
