American Idol: The Feel Good Show
Sorry about last week. Wasn’t feeling too well. Any way, onto this week.
Chris — If I Could Change the World — The problem for me is he just doesn’t have a strong voice. It’s an ok voice to hang out in the hood and sing on the corner or at the local karaoke bar, but it’s not a strong voice. I actually find his tone rather pleasant, but there’s no strength there, so I can’t get behind him.
Melinda — There Will Come a Day — She looked really nice tonight and her dress was nice, too — very tasteful. She sang very well, as usual. Don’t know the song, but she did well.
Blake – Imagine — It doesn’t help that the piano player hit some bad notes. Don’t like his performance. Jordis Unga did a much better version of this. This lacked heart.
LaKisha — I Believe — Ok, she can make this a big song — Fantasia did. She’s got to go for the big songs. Hmmm, not starting off so well — Fantasia has something special in her voice. I don’t know why LaKisha is backsliding, but I guess we’ve seen this happen in other seasons. She might not make the finals — in fact, I don’t think she will.
Phil — The Change — He sounded good. Can’t stand to watch him though.
Jordin — You’ll Never Walk Alone — It’s too slow for me, and she was doing some fussy little thing with the high notes in the beginning. Why, I don’t know, because she can clearly hit the notes. Well, I kind of hated this. I think she could have done a much better version of this song. I guess Randy and I were listening to two different performances because I just didn’t think she pulled it off. I just listened to it again and I still don’t like it — too much screaming.
My Bottom 3? Oh, hmmm, gee — well, who did I like? Melinda and Phil, sort of, if I don’t have to look at him.
Bottom 3 — ok, Blake, LaKisha and Phil/Jordin.
