Boycott The Falcons, Boycott Nike!

Neither care about the heinous crimes committed by their so-called star quarterback Michael Vick.  I read the 18-page federal indictment last night and I couldn’t stop crying.  Today I am still so angry I am shaking. 

I got even angrier after writing to Nike this morning and getting their uncaring reply.  I’ve posted both below for your viewing pleasure.  I have NOT received word back from the owner of the Atlanta Falcons, and I doubt I will.

I truly have half a mind to take the picture I made and protest in front of Nike stores in the mall this weekend.

If you care at all about animals, please boycott both corporations until such time as they DO THE RIGHT THING!

As a long-time consumer of Nike products, I urge you strongly to reconsider your support of Michael Vicks. He is NOT someone to look up to and his heinous crimes against dogs is more than enough evidence to convince your company of that. Please take a stand and immediately pull him from your sponsorship.

Otherwise, you are going to lose a lot of long-time loyal customers.

There is no change in the status of the agreement between Nike and football player Michael Vick. Nike will continue to monitor the situation, but has nothing further to say at this time.

Edit: I had a sudden idea.  I am going to research getting my own website tomorrow.  Why?  I want to start a grass roots campaign to get us heard by Nike and the Atlanta Falcons with regards to Vicks.  My idea?  Advertise the following on my website.

To those sponsors who refuse to drop Michael Vick (i.e. Nike and the Falcons). I say we mail dog shit to their offices. Yup. Collect your dog’s poop (which you should already be doing anyway) and instead of throwing it away, tie it up, box it and mail it first class right to the owner of the Falcons and Nike headquarters with a note that reads, "PROTESTING YOUR ENDORSEMENT AND SUPPORT OF MICHAEL VICK".

Maybe if they get inundated with dog shit they’ll do the right thing.  The website will provide the names and addresses of Nike headquarters and the owner of the Atlanta Falcons.

US Attorney General’s Office, 600 E. Main St, Suite 1800, Richmond, VA 23219 attention to Chuck Rosenberg and let them know that there will be NO plea deal that he is to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!! NO SPECIAL treatment just because he’s a supposed star athlete.
