American Idol – The Girls – As I Heard It.

I had an AI Marathon last night.  The boys review is right before this one.

Carly — Crazy on You — She has a big voice, but she’s singing a Heart song and Wilson has an even bigger, stronger voice.  I don’t know why she doesn’t appeal to me.
 
Syesha — Me and Mr. Jones — This girl can sing and I like watching her.  Her soft parts were a little iffy but when she belts it out, her voice is really good.  I guess I didn’t hate it like the judges seemed to.
 
Brooke — You’re So Vain — I like this girl a lot, but she doesn’t seem right for American Idol.  I’d love to go to Starbucks, grab a latte and linger a bit to catch her singing a song or two, but she doesn’t have a strong voice.  I’ll enjoy her while she’s still on the show.
 
Ramiele — Don’t Leave Me This Way — Big song.  Great voice.  I liked it but didn’t love it.
 
Kristy Lee — You’re No Good — Interesting song choice.  Cute girl.  Awkward on stage.  A competent performance, a couple of vocal issues, but she didn’t bring anything new or different.  She showed more pizzazz this time so that was a plus.
 
Amanda — Carry on My Wayward Son — Bad choice.  It shows how limited she is.  She’s definitely bar band material.  I feel kind of bad that she annoys me.  ;(
 
Alaina — Totally Devoted to You — I don’t know.  I like this song, but she’s too whiny.  Ooch, there are a couple of bad things happening there.
 
Alexandrea — If You Leave Me Now — A very weak performance, completely unmemorable.  Wasn’t she a lot better last week? 
 
Kady — Magic Man — Not a good choice for her.  She can sing, but this was just totally wrong for her.
 
Asia’h — All by Myself — She knows she hit a few bad notes.  The beginning was just too low for her.  Why oh why oh why?!  Ok, this is a weird good / bad performance.  The good parts are really good though, and it’s probably the best performance of the night.  
 

What’s wrong with these girls?  These song choices for the most part weren’t great, and they were pretty disappointing.
