American Idol As I Hear It: Then There Were 9

Dolly Parton — Okay, can we talk a second here?  Look at the difference between the face work on Dolly and compare it to Priscilla Presley.  Dolly has had some absolutely excellent face work done. That’s how it should look — totally natural.  Priscilla, once a gorgeous woman, has completely ruined her face.  Okay, enough about that…moving on.

BrookeJoleen — GREAT song choice for her.  I thought she did well but didn’t bring anything new, but well sung.  I guess the judges heard it differently.

David CLittle Sparrow — I don’t know this song, and it seemed like an odd choice for a guy.  It was well sung, but I kind of didn’t care.  I liked his hair a lot though and I still think he owns this year.

RamieleDo I Ever Cross Your Mind? — I don’t know, I really didn’t care about this one.  She’s annoying to me for some reason.

JasonTraveling Through — Don’t know this song, but I liked it.  It suited him.  A pleasant little ditty.

CarlyHere You Come Again — I love this song, although I like it better faster.  I didn’t care for this arrangement.  I think she kind of took the fun out of that song and turned it into a torch song.  I guess it was well sung, but I’d rather it was peppier.  I also really just don’t like her.  Little do some of you know but she’s already been touted by Randy Jackson for years!  I consider this totally unfair.  In addition to her not being, well, AMERICAN?  Bah, she’s won all kinds of singing shit in Ireland.  Let someone from the USA have a chance, huh Carly?

David ASmoky Mountain Memories — I thought it was rather bland.  But I cannot help but adore this kid.  Saw a segment on GMA this morning about him and GAH!  I’ve got a bit of a crush on him.  He’s so sweet, so humble and honestly like that according to everyone on GMA this morning.

Kristy Lee Coat of Many Colors — With her country twang, this song suited her.  It might have been her best song.  But, I don’t like her much.  Little does anyone know too, she’s friends with Britney Spears and has been in the circuit busting her ass to make it for years.

SyeshaI Will Always Love You — Such a wonderful song.  Well sung.  I liked what she did with this, but it was quite a throwback to Whitney and of course she can’t hold up to that scrutiny.

MichaelIt’s All Wrong But It’s All Right — Very nice.  A sexy, bluesy vibe.  When this guy is good, he’s really, Really, REALLY good.  The only performance with some originality to it.  Sorry, David C., but tonight Michael was certainly the best of the night.

Bottom 3?  Ramiele and Syesha, Kristy Lee or possibly Jason again.

What say you?

I have a crush on David A. too, in the sense I want to kidnap him, hold him hostage for a week and make him into a man. *moist*

I need to start watching next week. I’ve been slacking with Idol watching this season. I was a bit miffed last season that Blake didn’t take all though. I thought he had a fresh sound and a look that kids could identify with.

I only watched the first few. I’m just not getting INTO it this year.

Hi. I saw you when looking through common interests. I like your front page and want you to know I’m the type of person that adopts from shelters (I have 4 cats, one rescued and three adopted from shelters)…. I am an Idol junkie…..and I agree somewhat with your review of the show last night though I think the judges raelly did hear different than us. I think that Def Kristy Lee and Ramiele in the bottom three but I’m not sure about the third…we’ll see. Anywho..may I add you to my favorites? May I be added to yours? I always ask first. (you can get an idea of the Idol results at dialidol.com).

ryn: I’ve added you dear. Thanks for replying back I like to generally ask before I just go adding people willy nilly.
